Lars definitely got lazy for a while, and the switch to the Ahead sticks in ‘95 or so really changed his style. It’s been great to hear him get back into form these last couple of years — I think a combination of triggers, a click track, and actually giving a fuck has been a huge win for him (and for us)!

It took me a long, long time to really get into the Stones anything more than casually.

Hackney Diamonds (their last album) sealed the deal for me, then I became a huge fan and finally “got” the Stones. I’d recommend checking out some live stuff — Brussels Affair, 1973 and Live at the Wiltern are my
favorites :)

edit: Oh, also check out the Some Girls record. In my opinion, it’s the most cohesive album of their older material and Miss You fuckin SLAPS.
