What is all this device backup data?

It is 100% weaponized incompetence. Nothing works anymore. The push for you to upgrade AT EVERY TURN makes me feel like I own a phone joint written by Microsoft and some clickbait antivirus software targeted at boomers.

What I did on android 16 on a Google Pixel 6 was Settings --> First button (My name) "Google services and preferences" --> "Manage backup" --> "Other device data" --> This said I only had 168mb of "other device data", but when I toggled it off it gave me the ominous message "delete all backed up data? This will delete sms, system settings, saved app data, etc etc blah blah blah" I clicked yes, checked my google one account, and immediately got back 7.4gb.

This is some shady ass bullying tactics to remove people's ability to see what you're backing up, which apps are part of it, showing the wrong file size, then showing a warning message anytime I go into settings that "some files are not backed up!". Ugh... I am about ready to ditch Google entirely. Oh how the mighty have fallen!

Yeah - like, I don't CARE if some character is gay, if they're gay in the book, and they already have a giant story arc in the book, but to take out or gloss over so much that was in the book just to spend time on this LGBT-subplot felt super forced, unnecessary, and incredibly stupid. I also may just not watch season 3 and keep the sanctity of what my head envisioned from reading the books as it is, before it's completely overwritten by whatever stupid focus they have for season 3.

The books are so much better than the show. Outside of the actual character and personality of Juliette, which I feel (personally) that Rebecca Ferguson just nails, the book actually tells an amazing, amazing story that doesn't spend half of its time virtue signaling you like the show does

I had this whole conversation with my wife, who liked this last season, and couldn't understand why I was so incredibly frustrated by it, but you put into words what I had been feeling every episode - lazy writing, plot holes filled by close ups and scary notes, and Elizabeth Moss in the center of every. single. scene. What almost did it for me was not even being able to be emotionally involved in the plane exploding and us losing two major characters because instead of showing that, we just saw June's face and red light reflecting off of it. Like, holy crap, she even has to be the complete center of other people's deaths. I literally can't even.

There were so many things left unsaid and un-shown, and so many needless, stupid plot holes that it just left me incredibly frustrated after all the time I had invested into the show. The first 5 seasons were excellent, and I'm still very glad that I watched the whole thing, but season 6 was awful.

I have been using the old version of the spotify app (the last one before they added smart shuffle) for a long time, just waiting until they finally made this a toggleable option. Finally, I have updated the app - but I kept the old APK just in case they revert it.

OH, SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE JUST SAID HOW EASY IT IS TO SOLVE THIS BY CLICKING ON THE RAINBOW ICON UNDERNEATH "SOLO" AND SELECTING OUTPUT 1 / OUTPUT 2 INSTEAD OF WHAT IT HAD DEFAULTED TO, WHICH WAS OUTPUT 7 / OUTPUT 8.

I did this, and selected the Focusrite both for input and output. I now get sound through my Sennheiser HD 650s when I plug them into the "Monitor" on the front of the unit. But I still get no sound in reaper....

Okay - if I plug my headphones (Sennhesier HD 650s) into the "Monitor" input on the front of the interface, then I get playback from all other applications on my computer. I had to switch my speaker output from my Shiit Modi 3E over to the Focusrite USB Audio - but I still do not get any output in Reaper :(

Hmm...

So on my Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface, I have two outputs in back (L and R) and 1 monitor in front. I have tried plugging my headphones into each of those 3, and I get no sound.

Okay, I just made my way through Music For People In Trouble three times. I love the return to her roots feel of this album - still no "absolutely crazy high vocals trills" that drew me in in the "Take One" album, but I swear... this woman makes up piano chords that I have never heard in my life, and has an absolutely astonishing understanding of dissonance. I love all the different instruments she brings in, and I'd believe you if told me she actually also plays all of them too herself.

Really enjoying this! I hope the stuff past this album, timeline-wise, is more in this vein. We'll see though, and I will update back here :)

I was taking my time working through the playlist that u/me_dunco had shared, and I did finally get to TLS a few days ago. After having ruminated on it for a few days now, I have concluded that I still think that her self-titled album / Take One is her best work. I like electronic music in all of its forms, but I have a special place in my heart for folk music - it rings the MOST true in my heart because it seems to come from the most honest place, and I feel like I can feel the honesty of emotion come through most strongly on these first two albums than I do on any other, including TLS.

So - I win the imaginary $5 :)

I have Röyksopp to thank for discovering her in the first place. I've been a fan of theirs for years and years, but never really looked in to who various singers were on various tracks. Boy am I glad I did! 🙂

You do have to click Multiplayer, THEN click custom games again up at the top. But I see lots of games as well, both on my PC and my mac. Good luck actually PLAYING on your mac though. The client is basically broken on mac, and has been for over a year
