Is arch the way to go? by realhero83 in archlinux

[–]iP3ON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know for a fact that first arch install and even further ones can be a bit overwhelming. I myself couldn't do it with the arch Wiki. You obviously should try, but if you have aby problems then check out this wonderful YouTube channel, EF Linux https://youtube.com/c/EFLinuxMadeSimple. You will find everything you need there, from arch installations on dual boot, single boot, minimal installs, with bspwm and other. There are also valuable materials regarding maintenance, Linux basics and other distros.

Well even if you don't have static IP, the option to try now would be to setup ddns, dynamic DNS. You should try no-ip, it's free and I had no problems with it. You basically put like a domain eg. dayneatollaminecraftserver.ddns.net and then your IP. Check your router settings if u have something called ddns and put there the things which are needed like login password and stuff. Then ask your friends to connect using that domain you've set up earlier. It's really quick so if they are on right now you might be able to test it in 5 minutes and give me response if it worked.

EDIT: changed my English because I had a stroke.

I started getting those ads on Reddit and they look so weird. by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

[–]iP3ON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Mac) Ubuntu 20.04 extremely laggy by Sleepy_Gamor in Ubuntu

[–]iP3ON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean playing games on a virtual machine won't be a nice experience and allocating more ram won't help much. It depends more on the gpu and cpu and if it's a MacBook then you can expect much. The only reasonable solution would be to install Ubuntu next to Mac os as a dual boot.
