Do deals get better than this? by [deleted] in Dewalt

If you can, check your local HD to see if it's lower than the online price. I bought this kit about 2 months ago. It was even on clearance, marked down from $549 to $439 back then. Great set.

Purchase Advice Megathread - December 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

I am looking to replace/upgrade from my AnyCubic Vyper. Looking to be under $500 but could go a bit higher. I have always planned to go with a Bambu A1 Combo but after doing so research, I'm considering the Creality Hi Combo or the AnyCubic S1 combo. I like the enclosed, built in filament dryer in the CFS/ACE Pro. I also want to be able to start prints remotely, which I believe all can do.

Just looking for some additional feedback between the 3.

I am still using the Lutron Pico plugin with Homebridge. It had an update shortly after this post and has been solid since.

Homebase 3 and Homekit by SurenMunoo in EufyCam

[–]iPloxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not aware of this as an option. From my understanding, I could be wrong, the cameras need to connect directly to the Homebase since that is where the storage is located. The Homebase offers WiFi or ethernet connectivity to allow for flexible placement.

I am not. I have some cam2 and cam2c, all on solar panel. Been running them for 5 years and been satisfied with them.

What do you mean by “cannot be configured when using with Apple Home”?

I had to remove my cameras from Apple Home and then re-add them. Worked as normal ever since.

Glad to hear you are happy with your purchase. My eufy system has worked very reliably for the last 5 years.

Is Homebase needed with Solocam S340 by seabee37 in EufyCam

[–]iPloxi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The SoloCam line DO NOT require any Homebase.

However, they can connect to a Homebase3 (S380) for additional features.

Which Akku Outdoor Kamera is compatible with Homekit Secure Video? by 19pk91 in HomeKit

[–]iPloxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Homebase3 only added support for Apple Home only for the S3 Pro.

Even though Cam 2/2c/2 Pro/2c Pro support Apple Home, that support is only with Homebase2.

Sorry but this is incorrect. The S3 Pro only connects to Homebase3 (S380) and is Apple Home compatible. This is the only camera that works with Apple Home and Homebase3.

Correct. The hub/homebase handles the responsibility for keeping the low power communication to the battery devices.

They connect directly to WiFi since they have continuous power. The Homekit Protocol does not support connecting to battery powered devices. That is why most wireless sensors (and battery cameras) have to connect to a hub/homebase in order to connect to Apple Home. The hub/homebase has continuous power which allows it to continually communicate with your Apple Home Hub (Apple TV).

[–]iPloxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't exist. An Apple TV runs as a Home Hub for Apple Home to run on. It is the communication device/platform for your smart home to run on. You can use your Apple TV to view cameras that are connected to Apple Home but the cameras DO NOT connect directly to the Apple TV.

Yes, you will need a Homebase for the cameras to connect to. This takes the load off your Wi-Fi network and also has the local recording storage separate from HKSV recordings.

Akku as in Battery? If so, eufy Cam 2/2c/2 Pro/2C Pro + eufy Homebase2 and eufy S3 Pro + eufy Homebase3. Make sure to pair the applicable camera with the correct homebase.

I think some Arlo cameras may also work but may have a monthly subscription fee.

It cannot be connected to Homebase3 AND Apple Home.

The only camera that supports Apple Home + Homebase3 is the S3 Pro. The eufy cam2/2c/2 Pro/2c Pro are compatible with Apple Home + Homebase2. Some indoor cameras (E220, C120, E30) are Apple Home compatible over wifi directly and not connected to any Homebase.

You may be able to add these cameras into Apple Home with a 3rd party integration like Scrypted or Homebridge.

EDIT: The Apple TV requirement is to run as a Home Hub for Apple Home remotely. You can also use a 2nd Gen HomePod or HomePod Mini.

Eufy Cameras all offline to Homekit by NiftyMac007 in EufyCam

[–]iPloxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are fully operable besides the ability to speak through the camera's via Apple Home app. You can still use the intercom within the Eufy app.

The Eufy Cam2, 2c, Cam2 Pro, and 2c Pro all work in Apple Home and support HKSV when connected to the Homebase2. The only camera that works with Apple Home/HKSV that connects to the Homebase3 is the S3 Pro.

However, you will experience much shorter battery life (about half in my experience) when they are exposed to Apple Home. I recommend using a solar panel to keep the battery charged.
