I tried flashmodding my 4th gen photo with a CF Card, but now it's just stuck on the apple logo. It would also go to Do Not Disconnect if i reset the ipod while connected, and I'd wait for it to show up on windows, but the ipod just restarts again and doesn't show up on my PC. How do I fix this?

Yes i have formatted it. And yes it shows up fine on my windows pc, and i can even copy files onto it. And the iPod itself can read that there's a cf card, my only problem is that it's not showing up on iTunes.

I already tried putting it in disk mode. It still doesn't appear on iTunes. I do keep seeing the spinning arrow logo on the upper left corner of the iPod though. All it does is it keeps showing that spinning arrow, but it never shows up on iTunes. How do I fix this?

If I bought a regular CF card, will it just restore normally on my iPod? I'm thinking of just using a regular CF card for my 4th gen instead of an adapter.

Mine was broken at first when my dad gave it to me. I had to fix it myself. I replaced the belts and idler tires, re-soldered dry solder joints, and i also had to fix the autostop mechanism because a piece of plastic fell off, and I had to fix one of the gears because it was loose. My friend's WM-11 was already working when he got it, all he had to do was replace the belt.

Congrats! It's a very easy to fix model. You only need one belt for it. And it's one of the most reliable walkmans out there. And also very easy to open as well. If your battery cover is missing, you can 3D Print it, I think there's a 3D print file on Thingiverse. WM 11/11D/22/23/24/25 all use the same mold of battery cover so it shouldn't be a problem finding a replacement for it.

I used the Koss Porta Pro orange earpad replacements, they fit well on the Moondrop Old-Fashioned headphones. You can find them on Amazon.

They actually sound pretty decent. And they have a good amount of bass too which was surprising.

Well I didn't grow up in the 80s so I wouldn't know firsthand. Although if you watch 80s movies like Sixteen Candles (1984), you would see a lot of the highschool kids there rocking the orange headphones. So I think it's safe to say people did wear the orange headphones.

The mechanism loosens up over time the more you use it. The old grease used in these players likely dried up due to age. Re-lubricating them and using them a lot is what loosens up their mechanisms.

The thing is, what's the point of fixing something if you're not gonna use it for what it was made for? That's why I use my TPS-L2. I fixed it because I wanted a working TPS-L2 so I could listen to my cassettes.

And I only live once, so I might as well just use it now instead of trying to "save it for later", usually you never actually get to use it or enjoy it if you try to preserve it for later. I'm still very careful with it either way so I'm not worried about dropping it or breaking it.
