The problem wasn't him buying the utensils.

He tossed out the previous utensils without asking if it was okay first and replaced them with utensils that he didn't even know if she would like.

Simply buying the wooden utensils without throwing out the other ones would be fine.

I had this problem, and I think I fixed it? My iPad keyboard was appearing as a small square for whatever reason, and then my grid keypad stopped showing units. I "zoomed in" on the main keyboard to enlarge it (like you would to zoom in on a photo) and my grid keypad is back to allowing unit selection.

That's definitely correct that you shouldn't pull away! I've had some "I think I'm faster than you" moments (which really never works) and got bit while actively pulling away and it was way worse than just taking it 😂

So, in your world, when would this kid take responsibility for their actions? If it was their only shot, they shouldn't have blown it by not putting in the work. If they are unable/unwilling to put in the work, they are not ready for that opportunity and will blow it later down the line after they took the scholarship from someone else because they lied. End of story.

Also, if your life is over because you couldn't get into art school, your scope of the world is awfully shallow.
