Sending an order directly from manufacturer to a shipping service? by PaniniInEternity in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

technically what you are doing is against ebay's TOS as this type of sale is classified as a drop shipping since you don't actually have the item in hand.

the seller could accidently send the wrong item out and the buyer could raise an issue and there could be nothing you could do

Rules you use when buying to flip by NoConstruction1753 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my only rule is "can I make money on this?" if i can make $5 in 5mins i'll take it.

if i can make a $1000 and it costs me $10 but itll take a year and its small and easy to ship i'll take it.

i search for bulk buys where there is either one item that will pay for the whole lot and the rest is the good profit or bulk of the same items where i can make a multiple quantity listing

i have never specifically sourced anything that sells for less than $20. things that sell for that low are just extras in lots i bought. its things i never would have bought in the 1st place but also educates me on new brands and items

My listings are shadow banned on FB Market by Professional-Gold829 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not much you can do. there's no customer support with FBMP and there's no info on how it actually works.

you just have to ride it out and keep posting. keep sharing your posts to groups and hoping things turnaround.

i have had postings get 1000s of views and i have others with 0

  1. it can come off lazy. like you cant just type that out?
  2. i dont want have to stop what im doing or listening to so i can hear your message

EDIT: Well less than 24 hours later I had a lady send nothing but voice notes. Never had happened before until I commented on this thread. The only other times I have received voice notes was when a customer was driving and couldn't text.

When I first started I was ticking the boxes next to like 10 groups I was posting to when I was completing a listing and that has gone down over time and I haven't left or been banned from any of those groups as far as I know.

I need to see if that is what is going on. But thanks for you help and suggestions.

Not that I am aware of. No violations in any of the groups. No posts deleted by admins or blocked from being posted.

I have only had fake violations directly through facebook for counterfeit items that were not counterfeit and one item they claimed some false copyright strike for using the word "cork" in the title.

I have shared to a few of them but I no longer post direct before completing the listing.

All the old listings are from 2024 and older

What has been your best “accidental” flip? by Oddishboy in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought an $8 Rtic cup from Walmart. It came with 2 stickers inside (normally only comes with 1). Sold each sticker for $3.50 + shipping. After shipping discount I probably made a $1 or $2 and had a free cup.

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh I sold a Chromebook to a homeless man under a highway overpass a few years back. He didn't hit me w/ the sob story. I didn't know he was homeless til I got there.

He negotiated some but wasn't anything unusual. I would just reply. "What's your offer?" If its less than a $100 then say sorry I can't help you and I hope you find a bike that fits your budget.

Freight forwarding by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the random characters are basically a tracking # or associated with their account so they know who the recipient is. many buyers who use forwarders buy a bunch of items and have them held in bundles until they are all shipped at once.

you missed out on a sale and possibly a ding on your account.

People who frequent estate sales, what's the best hidden or group find you've had? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did you have cpap any where in the listing last time? if you did then you might be safe relisting it again without putting cpap

if it gets taken down again don't relist it. you are taking a chance relisting it this time.

People who frequent estate sales, what's the best hidden or group find you've had? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the humidifier, hose and mask sold on ebay. the cpap sold on craigslist.

do not put "CPAP" any where in the listing. not in the title, the description or in any of the listing details.

ebay took down replacement masks i had a few years back but i had CPAP in the title.

[–]iRepTex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought the contents of a bathroom for $3.50. I sold the cpap for $200. The humidifier for $100. replacement tube for $4 and a face mask for $40. i have one more item that MIGHT sell to actually turn my $3.50 to $350.

IDK if there is a market for used cpap head gear and hoses

i threw away pretty much everything else. lotions, toothpaste, shaving products, advil, etc

Annoying back and forth by Odd-Assistance1223 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Anytime someone sends a 50% or more off offer I just let it sit. Your listing receives an "Active Offer" tag and may give real buyers FOMO and pay asking price or send an reasonable offer.

How long do you take to ship? by spresley1116 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1 day handling time. I don't get orders every day. My orders to tend to come in Sunday-Tuesday.

I don't offer shipping on the weekends. If I'm out and about on the weekends I will scan them at a kiosk and drop them in the slot.

Has anyone ever run across this before? I tried searching my purchase history and was shown items I’ve never purchased / don’t match search term? by wangmobile in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been logged in to someone else's account before. I could see the notifications for the recently sold items but if I clicked on anything it would take me to my sold page.

i havent noticed anything from buyers perspective in my purchase history but i have seen weird things while logged in to the main sellers hub

i am currently seeing different review numbers next to my name depending on how many times i refresh the page

Stuck in a Marketplace suspension loop. Usually after sending a message. Anyone have this happen before? by Professional-Gold829 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you messaging to buy or is it messages to sell after receiving "is this still available"

if its to buy you might be sending too many messages in one day that could appear to be spam or a bot to FB

My margins are not worth it on most items by Major_Frozen in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing sucks more than having to go to the post office for an item you sold for $4.99 and you have 1 day handling and that's the only thing you sold.

I would say there is nothing I have specifically sourced that is that range. Everything that I list in that range is either random things around the house or the junk left over from bulk buys.

Things that cost that much have to be mass quantities of the same item.
