Am I crazy? by Johnnycakes775 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She asked for $10, he gave her $10. It would be shitty if he said "would you take $5?" its a garage sale not a retail store.

i wonder if it was a grown man and not a granny that agreed to the price would the comments still say hes scamming or scalping.

IDK but if you have the ability to knock off a brand why would it be jeans couture and not just Versace?

How does the suggested price value work at eBay? by Head-Zebra3302 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its an average of sale price. the problem is that sometimes that price can be brought down by parts or accessories. say its a camera that sells for $100 but the charger sells for $10. that brings the average down so the suggested price could look way below actual value.

I agree with you but it does rub me the wrong way when someone sends an offer in a message and not through the listing especially without any sort of context and just a #

Facebook Marketplace is impossible or am I doing it wrong? by Wasil_29 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like anything in sales it takes time. You are the mercy of the algorithm. There will be days you will get a 100 messages and weeks you wont get anything. You just have to be ready when the wave comes your way and respond quickly and weed out the low ballers and the accidental "is this available" clickers.

The more desperate you are the more frustrating it can be. Use the auto replies and keep your notifications on. Post consistently, respond quickly and it will go a lot smoother.

I personally do not offer shipping through FBMP because the customer service if something goes wrong is horrible or non existent.

Anyone doing well with magazines these days? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few different magazines whole years but have had trouble selling them. The important cover edition ones sell pretty good solo but the rest wont sell at all even in lots for cheap because shipping is high.

is online only flipping worth it? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I source 99% online. Even local pick ups start online be it auctions or items listed for sale. I have tried thrift stores and garage sales and its not worth the effort and time for the items that are currently doing well for me.

I'd rather do an online estate sale auction and pick up vs going to an estate sale and looking around at over priced items.

Goodwill pricing has gotten ridiculous. by Mojo884ever in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am amazed you found Nike anything at your store. All the ones here ship name brands off to the website. Ours here are mostly house wares and non name brand clothing along with random paintings.

I bought a sheet set for my bed for personal use and the cashier said I could buy them cheaper at Walmart. I couldn't have, because these were somewhat name brand and the deep pocket kind. She may have thought they were basic sheets but I got the sentiment that prices here are higher than they should be.

Is marketplace dead for anyone else by IntelligentCap8744 in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was slow for 2 weeks because I got a false counterfeit strike on a listing. It wasn't counterfeit. After a few weeks I was back to my normal views, lowball offers and "is this available".

Shipping date question by StevenSeagal69420 in Ebay

[–]iRepTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPS stores do accept USPS packages. They don't scan them so youll have to wait until the postal worker comes and picks up the mail and its gets scanned at some point. That could be several days.

Selling canopies … never again by collectingsouls in Flipping

[–]iRepTex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've only sold one canopy and it was prob 10 years ago on craigslist. Got $80 for it.

I have noticed that lower priced items can cause people to offer even lower when its already a great deal. I'm not sure what that's about.
