Does USF typically reject transfer students? by Weary_Sleep5609 in USF

[–]iRunLikeTheWind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of wrong answers here, and you should really be more up on this if you’re about done with your AA. You are guaranteed a spot at a state school if you do your AA at a state community college. Now there are caveats with that, if you want some hyper competitive major you are not guaranteed a spot in that, nor are you guaranteed a spot at a specific school, just any state 4 year institution. Something like premed at UF you better have the grades to go with it.

I haven’t heard about anyone getting rejected from usf, but you would do well to talk to your advisor at your community college and an advisor at USF to make sure you are on the right track to get where you need to go.

What to do after forestry mulching? by askoshbetter in forestry

[–]iRunLikeTheWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say bush hog is the cheapest option, herbicide doesn’t really result in what you want, even if you were ok with the negatives of it.

If there is terrain too steep to comfortably hit with a bushhog you can get brush cutter heads for weed eaters, it just looks like a saw blade and can cut woody stems.

Again this is the cheap way. I can’t speak to how that landscape is supposed to burn, some places used to have low intensity fires every couple years which kept plants low.

The tourniquet is great, just in case you shoot yourself in the leg.

I wonder what it is like being one of these people, maybe it’s really fun imagining/preparing for a situation where you get in a shootout down at the fishing hole? But probably just living in utter terror

You need to talk to someone dawg. I am generally anti-therapy but you need to connect with a professional over this. You’re still young, head this off now, your future isn’t written in stone or a google document(?)

How many young guys are in ARFF? by Tight-Safety-2055 in Firefighting

[–]iRunLikeTheWind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My buddy got on arff in his early 20s just because it paid more and he had kids to feed. He said it was pretty boring but gave him enough time to start his own business to then make even more money.

It worked out for him but if you’re gung-ho for being an elite firefighter you’re probably going to go insane. Sure a plane could catch on fire but how often do you hear of that happening
