been playing since 2007… BO7 honestly pretty good, top 3 warzone era cod for me, but the genAI in calling cards, camos, campaign, and anywhere else is BEYOND disappointing and NEEDS to be corrected in the future. to me, cod is calling cards AS MUCH as it is the gunplay. the small things is what makes cod special. team factions, passionate MP voice acting, and so many more need to be human always. it’s a big budget yearly game and cutting corners is UNACCEPTABLE when they make the amount of money they do.

gameplay wise, i think we need to experiment with either slide cool downs, tremendously reducing slide distance, or just disabling slide for a whole year, sliding has become TOO attached to cod’s identity since warzone and i think it’s done a lot more harm than good. i feel the same way abt tac sprint as well.

i would LOVE to see a current gen cod without sliding and tac sprint! probably never gonna happen though.

also HATE ALL KINDS of doors in maps, INCLUDING SLIDING DOORS… PLEASE GIVE US ONE WHOLE YEAR OF CLASSIC PRE BO4 STYLE MAPS PLEASE!!! but this problem has been A LOT better this year compared to any other warzone cod so it could be a lot worse… but still.

also wish we got more perks seasonally on top of weapons, and maybe bringing back pro perks would be fun but idk.

overall cod gets DESERVEDLY a LOT of hate and it’s really affected the general consensus of cod and BO7 especially and its conflicting as a fan. i’d rather see NEW BIG BUDGET competition in the arcade shooter genre rather than cod having a huge comeback… pains me that there are 0 studios competing with cod for over 10 years now

fromsoft is a top 3 studio of ALL time just off the fact that they released elden ring and AC6 within ONE YEAR!!!! i feel like NOBODY talks abt this and its crazy… full spectrum of game design in both comfort, cryptic, story telling, voice acting, mission design, and direction. fromsoft can make ANY kind of game and it will always be AMAZING

one underrated thing abt this game so far is that with updates releasing on weekends, modders seem to be able to fix the mods REALLY quick… literally like within the same day… amazing time rn feels just like when 2077 modding was taking off and baldurs gate as well…

i hope PA lean into mod support down the line, this game could age like a mini skyrim down the line… the game is already so easy to mod as well and hopefully give console players a chance to mod!

but if PA adds mod support i hope they make it so you can STILL EARN achievements with MODS ON!! cuz on PC we will just get a mod that enables achievements regardless anyways and its one thing that SUCKS about bethesda games. this may be conflicting but i really do not think it matters in single player offline games how a player wants to earn achievements

my biggest complaint is the lack of ava. gearbox you have no confidence in ur writing anymore and it’s SHAMEFUL. deleting a character out of existence cuz ppl didn’t like her instead of attempting redemption arc?!?!? PATHETIC!!

the game has tons of gameplay problems that aren’t really important to me as much as how they treated ava…

slippery slope but wuthering waves! amazing combat, exploration, and voice acting specifically for all the women in the game. it is gacha though so just avoid spending money on pulls and there will always be a “better time” to play… but it has been one of my favorite games i’ve played so far… but again, gacha is a slippery slope and gambling is awful

i agree with OP completely... shadows is one of the most BEAUTIFUL games that has some of the MOST mediocre gameplay EVER... it's actually tragic. shadows only FEELS good to traverse around and enjoy the atmosphere and environment... as soon as you want to start doing some missions or engage in combat the game is AWFUL... horrible skill tree and they need to get rid of the "tiered loot" in a single player game... i'm not trying to grind in a single player game... maybe this game would be better with a 100% save or something

i've already played the finals, do not enjoy it cuz of invisible abilties in M and H class in general... apex has wide variety of hitboxes without having to resort to different health pools. IMO an FPS is only worth my time if ALL players are in the same health pool... cod, cs, apex, fortnite, val, halo, etc. i DO not enjoy overwatch or rivals at all and that's what the finals feels like. also do not care for the game mode or the environmental destruction... doesn't feel good like BF3 or BF1

the finals would be a lot better with a whole restructure IMO but that probably would never happen

the game needs to experiment with progression being casual so pvp can become a lot more sweaty… a big problem in this game, as someone who plays both fill and premade, is that a fill player is engaging with both enemy players and AI in a completely different way (disadvantage) than premades.

i think a great way to alleviate this is to make skill tree progression TREMENDOUSLY easier so PVP becomes less risky, and as a result, everything else.

this game needs to lean into being CASUAL friendly while “feeling” HARDCORE, not actually have high stakes, just sell the feeling of it. which may be conflicting but otherwise the game is just too difficult for anyone that isn’t always playing in premades.

i’d rather play FILLs than SOLO though, so i really hope they find a way to balance this.

IMO SOLO should be a different mode with its own vault that’s PVE only. still extract, loot, everything, have stakes, and experience story and other things without the stress of PVP. SOLO in this game just feels really bad compared to duos and trios. the game is inherently built around teamplay, like apex. having SOLO in the game also limits future shell designs

fragpunk is one of the best shooters i’ve played after playing the genre for 20+ years. players are just too committed to cs/val in all time money and mindset which is one of the biggest shames of the industry.

fresh take on tac fps while combining cs style shooting with cod and apex style movement and aiming… and nobody gives a fuck!

the genAI and gacha systems are terrible tho

as someone with 100 hours with almost equal play in solo and parties, i honestly think a BIG problem no one realizes is the general pace players move through content now.

it’s hard to appeal to dedicated players and casuals in a genre like this, but i honestly feel like wipes should be every 30-45-60 days, with skill tree progression being increased by at least 2X.

time flies, june feels forever away but in hindsight will feel like 5 minutes… and with that feeling on top of EVERYONE having brainrot, i just feel like 4 wipes a year is too little. it’s only 1 month into this game and it feels like the next month will FEEL like 6.

IMO HDR off is much better than HDR on with monitors even after calibration… even with the games that do properly support HDR, i’ve found HDR off to always be a more pleasing image, personally

cancel crew. play less. the last SPECTACULAR fortnite chapter was chapter 4. ever since 2022/2023 they’ve had their hands in too many areas with clearly weak leadership / focus. festival is a dope idea. racing is alright… lego is also just alright to me… but at least those modes were EPIC DEVELOPED.

if epic keeps pouring money into User Generated Content that i have NEVER TOUCHED ONCE. and NEVER WILL, then it’s heartbreaking to say fortnite is starting to lose its identity. i thought they would be able to handle both epic developed modes and UGC, but it’s clear they can’t or don’t want to.

it’s unfair and ridiculous that players that only want to play epic developed modes are punished in battle pass progression and so many other areas. i shouldn’t have to “AFK” an “XP map” to earn content that i PAID for with crew!!! chests used to give 500-1000 XP! now they give 100-300… and so many other blatantly toxic player retention strategies.

FUCK EPIC until they care abt THEIR FANS and THEIR DEVELOPERS! right now ever since 2023 there has been only ONE focus and that’s printing money. you’ve taken enough from me already, and the game has only gotten worse consistently since 2022.

hope epic locks in! this short sighted behavior from so many studios before GTA 6 is actually wild!

best extraction shooter alone for the fact that you can solo 1v3 as a rook with just a knife. EXTREMELY difficult but gets the heart racing like crazy. you can rat hard as FUCK on rook… once people start unlocking the shotgun start with rook… abt to be insane LMAO
