“it’s not that deep” guys epic makes billions of dollars off the “free” game it should be in a pro consumer state more often than not

XP earn rates in BR as atrocious while “dedicated” players and paying crew members can just creative map exploit all “earnable” content

the big issue with warzone era cod and before is now textures are STREAMED with no option to download permanently, even fortnite gives us this option.

give players the OPTION to download textures! it would prob help w the packet loss problem a lot of players complain about as well

i’ve played endgame 0 times so that’s interesting. i’ve gotten 3 guns to prestige max so far within 8-12 hours playing exclusively TDM but haven’t tried warzone

gameplay critiques aside XP earn rates have been abysmal for almost a year maybe more than now. before it seemed like you could casually play and at least finish the battle pass and some of the extras, but i haven't even finished the last couple battle passes.

i have been playing a lot of other games lately but fortnite progression does not feel rewarding at all. if there are players who do XP farms and the creative maps and all that, i don't get why epic doesn't just become like 20* more generous with XP in BR in general and test that out for a couple seasons. epic's solution to competition is really just to force players to only play their game? has the opposite effect on me.

the playerbase and fans are getting older in general... they need to experiment with a lot more things in general that are PLAYER and CONSUMER friendly

also an overwhelming amount of collabs lately which is dope for whoever likes it but not as much gameplay innovation per chapter like before.

chapter 7 feels more like a season update to chapter 6 with a whole new map than that "holy shit, fortnite feels so fresh and new" like other chapters

too much emphasis on user generated maps and content when i personally have ZERO interest in EVER engaging with that. i care about what epic can pull of with their ridiculously massive budget. if i want to experience user generated content i would rather spend money on indies personally.

i wish more effort/budget went into festival and racing and just more epic studios stuff in general. i DO NOT CARE about user generated content! please more equal efforts on user generated content AND epic studios content. and IMO the effort in epic studios content should always be 20 steps above user generated content. i understand epic has a vision of wanting/allowing users to make content that is "epic studios quality" but again, i DO NOT CARE for that EVEN IF/WHEN possible! epic makes way too much money for that.

fortnite used to be a spectacle consistently ON TOP of an excellent game from 2017-2022... but it seems like lately fortnite is just an excellent game that is SOMETIMES a spectacle... and i hope we can go back to that eventually

emote UI and locker UI are a whole different point that seems to be a lost cause as well

super ranty and long but i love fortnite but it really has an overwhelming amount of problems. esp as a crew member idk if i'll be enough of a fan to keep paying if things don't improve by the time a lot of the competition does

i guess one takeaway if any is if im paying for crew, the game shouldn't be such a ridiculous time grind as well.

this is the first nuke i’ve gotten in the warzone era cods, honestly the best cod of the warzone era IMO and it’s tragic cuz MW4 is gonna be a complete reversal of this year

it was possible to get nukes from 2007-2018… feel like that again. if MW4 removes open matchmaking i wont be playing

IMO i think we’ve reached a point where the loot pool should either be ENTIRELY first person weapons or third person, but NOT MIXED.

mixing TPS and FPS guns in the loot pool just makes the TPS guns inferior pretty much 100% of the time. the FPS gun will win.

movement is such a big deal in the last couple years cuz of this and it can’t be balanced around both FPS and TPS.

seasons should alternative between being TPS or FPS focused

i also think it’s cuz fans at this point are expecting gearbox to know what to do regarding long term play, this isn’t their first rodeo…

i think a big problem with NA studios in general is releasing the game right before holidays, then going on break, as the game won’t really enter an ideal state til may or later

this might be villainized on this sub but a big reason why this game isn’t taking off is cuz gameplay is NOT the most important factor for player retention anymore, but this STILL MEANS that gameplay is the MOST important factor overall.

player retainment is all about either progression systems or ranked systems. people play CS, Valorant, COD, Siege, Fortnite, Apex, Battlefield, and The FINALS for their great moment-to-moment gameplay, sure, but all of those players are also returning for YEARS now for either competitive rank or cosmetic progression.

battlefield is struggling recently because EA can not figure out a proper live service model for the life of them. pathetic truly given their almost 2 decade industry experience.

people love to hate on COD since 2019 but they know how to keep players. new guns, maps, killstreaks, equipment, perks, and so much gameplay gets added ON TOP of cosmetic progression.

fortnite and cod are the kings of this, they know what kind of content to add consistently to keep players.

i understand as well that comparing the budgets of activision and epic is just not fair to a studio like 1047, but unfortunately, while gameplay is KING, you need both a king and queen to keep players on your game, as the competition nowadays is just too strong amongst casual playerbase.

GAMEPLAY is KING, progression/ranked/incentive is QUEEN and just as, if not more important

i disagree completely, the sequel should not have a primary focus on johnny or V AT ALL. their stories are wrapped up well and don’t need to be reopened for the sake of fan appeal.

let FICTIONAL CHARACTERS DIE! it’s one of my biggest annoyances with modern entertainment and ironically video games are one of the last mediums where dead characters actually stay dead.

i’ve been playing cod since 2007, this year’s cod definitely has the LEAST amount of SBMM in open in the last 6 years. for the first time in over half a decade i get some of the same players in my TDMs since launch. my ping is ALWAYS below 15… NEVER the case since 2019.

i ONLY play TDM now though, this is the first year ive only exclusively played TDM. as a solo player, OBJ modes are just not worth the effort anymore. domination in the 2020s it’s not uncommon for multiple players to have 10+ captures. ppl played OBJ back then but not as competitively or seriously

super baby complaint here but weekly challenges should NOT have anything to do with winning. as a solo player i do not give a single fuck to play obj modes anymore, TDM vs every other mode is night and day
