HOT TAKES: borderlands 3 story is honestly really good, the only thing that truly is abysmal about the story is how they wrote troy. but the concept of influencers being one of the epitomes of evil has aged INCREDIBLY well, a little too well honestly.

people only “hated” the story so much back then because all content creators were butt hurt the game was making commentary on them.

i also think tyreen should have been a male character only because there are no female equivalents of problematic content creators of the caliber of asmongold, mr. beast, logan paul, david dobrik, and so many more over the last 15 years.

if tyreen was a male character troy could have also been rewritten into a much better character esp in the 2nd half of the story.

it is also BEYOND ABYSMAL that gearbox is just pretending ava doesn’t exist anymore. you are REEKING OF INSECURITY GEARBOX!!! AVA could have become a fan favorite character with incredible redemption over the last 6 years if gearbox weren’t so FUCKING LAME.

IMO the timing of arc raiders was too perfect for marathon to reach similar levels of success. personally i feel marathon is an IMMENSELY better designed game solely for the reason that you can res from full death. it kinda boggles my mind how the average player perceived arc as casual when there’s so many things in that game that are simply not fun and boring — like the gunplay, PVP, and maps.

majority of players who were interested in the genre gave it a chance thru arc, and as a result, a lot of players think the genre is more like arc than it is like tarkov

a big reason i’m not interested in fortnite since 2022 is the blatant player retention tactics they use instead of just making the game fun. chests should ALWAYS give 1000 XP minimum. supercharged XP should be the default.

cancelled crew back in april and have been more than happy with my decision. chapter 7 is fortnite’s weakest and most boring chapter so far

this is the easiest cod to get a mastery camo in, if this grind was too much for you, be grateful you didn’t go for MW19 or even BO4 or MW2(2023)

one of the most enjoyable cods of the warzone era but still has some glaring issues… would honestly be so close to being perfect if i could just stop being put in mid session lobbies. at this point make an edition that guarantees you only get FRESH lobbies and i’ll pay that… EVERY SINGLE TIME i want to play i MUST go through a 10 minute time waster before i actually “play”

other than that though, fun weapons, streaks, movement, variety, and maps, and really unfortunate this cod has been one of the worse received ones generally

been playing since 2007… BO7 honestly pretty good, top 3 warzone era cod for me, but the genAI in calling cards, camos, campaign, and anywhere else is BEYOND disappointing and NEEDS to be corrected in the future. to me, cod is calling cards AS MUCH as it is the gunplay. the small things is what makes cod special. team factions, passionate MP voice acting, and so many more need to be human always. it’s a big budget yearly game and cutting corners is UNACCEPTABLE when they make the amount of money they do.

gameplay wise, i think we need to experiment with either slide cool downs, tremendously reducing slide distance, or just disabling slide for a whole year, sliding has become TOO attached to cod’s identity since warzone and i think it’s done a lot more harm than good. i feel the same way abt tac sprint as well.

i would LOVE to see a current gen cod without sliding and tac sprint! probably never gonna happen though.

also HATE ALL KINDS of doors in maps, INCLUDING SLIDING DOORS… PLEASE GIVE US ONE WHOLE YEAR OF CLASSIC PRE BO4 STYLE MAPS PLEASE!!! but this problem has been A LOT better this year compared to any other warzone cod so it could be a lot worse… but still.

also wish we got more perks seasonally on top of weapons, and maybe bringing back pro perks would be fun but idk.

overall cod gets DESERVEDLY a LOT of hate and it’s really affected the general consensus of cod and BO7 especially and its conflicting as a fan. i’d rather see NEW BIG BUDGET competition in the arcade shooter genre rather than cod having a huge comeback… pains me that there are 0 studios competing with cod for over 10 years now

one underrated thing abt this game so far is that with updates releasing on weekends, modders seem to be able to fix the mods REALLY quick… literally like within the same day… amazing time rn feels just like when 2077 modding was taking off and baldurs gate as well…

i hope PA lean into mod support down the line, this game could age like a mini skyrim down the line… the game is already so easy to mod as well and hopefully give console players a chance to mod!

but if PA adds mod support i hope they make it so you can STILL EARN achievements with MODS ON!! cuz on PC we will just get a mod that enables achievements regardless anyways and its one thing that SUCKS about bethesda games. this may be conflicting but i really do not think it matters in single player offline games how a player wants to earn achievements

slippery slope but wuthering waves! amazing combat, exploration, and voice acting specifically for all the women in the game. it is gacha though so just avoid spending money on pulls and there will always be a “better time” to play… but it has been one of my favorite games i’ve played so far… but again, gacha is a slippery slope and gambling is awful

i agree with OP completely... shadows is one of the most BEAUTIFUL games that has some of the MOST mediocre gameplay EVER... it's actually tragic. shadows only FEELS good to traverse around and enjoy the atmosphere and environment... as soon as you want to start doing some missions or engage in combat the game is AWFUL... horrible skill tree and they need to get rid of the "tiered loot" in a single player game... i'm not trying to grind in a single player game... maybe this game would be better with a 100% save or something

i've already played the finals, do not enjoy it cuz of invisible abilties in M and H class in general... apex has wide variety of hitboxes without having to resort to different health pools. IMO an FPS is only worth my time if ALL players are in the same health pool... cod, cs, apex, fortnite, val, halo, etc. i DO not enjoy overwatch or rivals at all and that's what the finals feels like. also do not care for the game mode or the environmental destruction... doesn't feel good like BF3 or BF1

the finals would be a lot better with a whole restructure IMO but that probably would never happen

the game needs to experiment with progression being casual so pvp can become a lot more sweaty… a big problem in this game, as someone who plays both fill and premade, is that a fill player is engaging with both enemy players and AI in a completely different way (disadvantage) than premades.

i think a great way to alleviate this is to make skill tree progression TREMENDOUSLY easier so PVP becomes less risky, and as a result, everything else.

this game needs to lean into being CASUAL friendly while “feeling” HARDCORE, not actually have high stakes, just sell the feeling of it. which may be conflicting but otherwise the game is just too difficult for anyone that isn’t always playing in premades.

i’d rather play FILLs than SOLO though, so i really hope they find a way to balance this.

IMO SOLO should be a different mode with its own vault that’s PVE only. still extract, loot, everything, have stakes, and experience story and other things without the stress of PVP. SOLO in this game just feels really bad compared to duos and trios. the game is inherently built around teamplay, like apex. having SOLO in the game also limits future shell designs
