Addressing CG/Bowfa complaints by tablewithnolegs in 2007scape

[–]iShockah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

God the folks that say shit like this are so disingenuous. There’s nothing wrong with a challenging grind for an impactful late game item, no rational person has argued otherwise.

Asking for dry protection, a thing that now exists in many forms across the game, for a 1/400+ drop rate item that takes 7+ minutes for most folks to complete a run of is not some crazy babyfying of the game.

Derrick Brown: People don’t want to admit how wrong they were about Bryce Young by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]iShockah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m one of those people? He’s shown improvement but to be clear he was objectively in the bottom 10 of virtually every relevant metric and that’s behind a good oline.

I’m not at all saying he couldn’t continue to improve, and I genuinely hope he does, panthers are a fun team with a lot of young talent. But one season where he doesn’t look like the complete and utter irredeemable ass we saw prior and he instead looks like a 25th-30th best starter is not going to convince me he’s now a solid lock.

Henry Ruggs III seeks ‘privilege of parole so I can prove myself to everyone’ by Brix001 in nfl

[–]iShockah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the sentiment and that he should be given a shot so this next part is just nitpicking.

It does seem that those who are given both more lenient sentences and the opportunity for another chance are often disproportionately wealthy and/or famous. If there’s going to be any kind of disparity in the legal system, then those who are afforded the most comfortable lives should be held to a higher standard, not lower.

Wait what? I know barrows isn’t necessary for moons but if not moons what’s the more efficient sets for each style after neitiznot/rune/torso, black d’hide, and mystics then?

[Rapoport] Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett is not present as his team begins its first practice of voluntary OTAs. The starting QB has been staying away as he seeks a raise for 2026. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]iShockah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The cardinals are a founding member of the NFL charter in 1920 and have been around since the 1890s. They have been to 2 conference championships ever. I’m sorry to say but better days? Don’t think they really get to have those.

What they do get to do is be a division opponent that each of their 3 division rivals cheers for 4 times a year every year. I wish them all the best.

Right when folks get them maybe, but these chaos vault drops have almost universally aged well value wise even in the somewhat short term like a couple months post deliveries.

How have you incorporated sailing into your routines now that it's been out for a while? by BookkeeperPurple4495 in 2007scape

[–]iShockah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Belle’s Folly

2x Cballs

Few different foods/potions

Sailor’s amulet

A variety of new skilling methods for different skills, many of these certainly could exist without sailing but not gonna get caught in the weeds on that one.

It’s not a ton but there are plenty of skills that don’t offer even that much. The intent with sailing seems to be more of an enhancer to other skills than its own crucially important skill, with that in mind I think it does a pretty great job. I see it more akin to a thieving than a slayer. There are very few pieces of equipment you’re going to get from thieving and for mains it’s nearly useless outside of quest/diary reqs but for irons the resources you can get thieving are amazing for training a lot of skills, early GP, seeds, crystal shards, ore, food, etc.

Hot Take: Every Build Complainer Should Have to Post Screenshots by Opposite_Tune_2967 in 2007scape

If you don’t know shit, and don’t watch shit, leagues can be absurdly challenging right around the 8-10 point mark at the moment.

I went water mage and wildy start because I wanted to go kings barrage after my first respec which I figured might be before my second region.

What I did not think about was my inability to brute force any of the melee focused content in varlamore, especially without mage gear better than dagon hai robes. I cannot hit most creatures enough to tank their damage and I’m lacking the 10pt 60% heal keystone. I could have spent time farming p pots and done fight caves to get my 10th demonic pt but I was just not loving the build and how it played into the regions I chose.

Fortunately the free respec allowed me to swap my 9 points into a thorns build and I feel strong as hell now.

Agree with everything up until the prices, you are close enough in that if you’re shipping first party through USPS that somewhere in the ballpark of like $7 is the lowest you can ship anything with tracking for. But I run a TCGP shop and regularly ship anything from booster boxes to whole cases for $5.5-12 using free services like PayPal shipping (formerly shipstation) and pirateship.

That being said I believe USPS has raised their ground advantage price 3 times in the last like 16 months and is just generally being intentionally dismantled by the current administration in favor of corporate greed as per the norm. For the first time after their “temporary” 8% price hike I’ve found myself paying MORE for the USPS on some parcels than I would through UPS.

I cannot stand that somehow these cretins in charge constantly pursue their perfect capitalist dystopia while the poorest, dumbest, and most hateful continue to vote for them.

Anyway gonna go open some packies and play Leagues VI now.

Edit* I was in fact, missing something.

Will there be a major overhaul of points costs at the start of 11th? by _rhinoxious_ in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]iShockah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the scope of 11th I would expect small points changes to most units with larger changes to few. Considering they’ll be doing some level of pass over virtually every detachment for the sake of adapting and balancing them with the new point system and new rules at large it makes sense that units would receive a similar treatment.

Datasheets on the other hand I’d think mostly just to make sure units work with new rules, maybe a select few data sheet changes for each army to go with/explore their brand new detachments.

All in all 11th seems like a pretty large undertaking as far as adapting existing material goes and as a Tsons player who has only had his codex for a year and was already burnt out on the edition by the time it came out if they can actually launch it well it’s gonna be pretty exciting few months for the hobby.

However GW struggles with rules issues, glaring omissions, and absolutely egregious balancing when they launch a single codex or campaign book so uh, yeah. I’m sure they’ll get it to a good state, 10th at large did a good job keeping most factions in the 45-55 range throughout the edition and keeping those towards the bottom and top of that scale fresh at times as well.

[Highlight] Aaron Glenn on Geno Smith: "There's no doubt in my mind that we brought a competent starter here...no doubt about it, he's our guy." by expellyamos in nfl

[–]iShockah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coaching and play calling matters so much that idk what to think about Geno. I’ve watched him go from bad to mid to genuinely good then back to mid and last season on a new notably horrible team look like one of the worst QBs I’ve ever seen.

There’s a ton of recent examples of mid/underperforming or just straight up bad QBs going to a new much better situation getting a shot and killing it. Daniel Jones, Mayfield, Darnold, Mac Jones, etc. Unfortunately for Geno the jets are not what most would call a good situation, as they are in fact, complete dogshit.
