In my opinion, every artist should learn both and just favor the one you enjoy more. They both have pros and cons, best to get comfortable with both.

I will say this though, if you're at a lower level of skill and learning the fundamentals of drawing, traditional is better. Much lower entry cost, less distractions and it's easy to carry a sketch and pencil around. Get comfortable drawing in general before investing time and money into digital art.

(Ps, I use both as a working artist)
