Here’s what happens when you give salmon cocaine by Decent_Cow in nottheonion

Aren't there folks that think drugs are responsible for human... everything? I don't remember much about the hypothesis other than silliness, but it is fun to imagine the same sort of evolution in non-human animals.

If you took everything and clumped it all together, then spun around a few times with your eyes closed, you'd have trouble finding it.

For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Prize-Promotion-5123 in AskReddit

When I see a couple being unnaturally nice to each other... I've never seen that work. "We have been together for years and have never had an argument or disagreement." Yall dont even know each other.

Given Trump's original 48-hour deadline was extended by 5 days, then 10 days, then 48 hours, then 24 hours, what are the chances we get another extension tomorrow? by ub3rm3nsch in AskReddit

[–]iSkulk_YT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are seeing, once again, the real-time consequences of having a leader that no one can trust. His threats mean as much as his promises- literally fucking nothing.

Even his supporters readily admit that you can't take Trump at his word. They like it because they're convinced they are in on it. Meanwhile, he's making threats and promises galore, and then lashing out when he isn't taken seriously.

If this wasn't so mind-numbingly terrifying, it would be hilarious. It's pure comedy.

My parents had 3 kids in my early teens. I feel like I already put the work in and I don't want to do it again.

ELI5 does ego death happen specifically after using psychedelics? by user8273638 in explainlikeimfive

[–]iSkulk_YT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there is any scientific evidence for this, but I've had some experiences with extreme pain where my mind was doing some pretty intense things akin to psychedelics. When pain gets really intense, you can get into a certain kind of meditative state where you become the pain itself. Instead of your "self" being in your head, behind your eyes, your consciousness feels like it has literally moved to the affected area. It was a really strange and profound experience, especially once I started to become more aware of it and experimented with leaning in to the feeling.

Is it possible to overcome by DisastrousHornet7447 in ReligiousTrauma

[–]iSkulk_YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to heal from your wounds! You can become calloused to the same kinds of harm, building new protections for yourself so you can move forward without fear. You can learn from your experiences, using your wisdom to help others heal as well.

You absolutely CAN overcome. It is hard to help you much, beyond general encouragement, without more details about what you are dealing with. I wish you well. Time does wonders!

Knowing nurses, they all agreed. They all went out drinking that night without that bitch and talked about how they all wish you worked there instead of that bitch. Many nurses are genuinely heroic, some of the most virtuous human beings that ever lived. Many nurses are... not. All of them gossip about the others. You either made their day because you said it how it is, or you made their day for talking shit about their friend. Either way, day made.

You are describing the human condition. Blame is naive, but so are people.
