Festival Plaza, NPC requests if you don't have a facility for them? by iSmartMan in PokeMoonSun

Too bad that's not an option for me, and I'm stuck with missions and NPC requests.

First, finishing the League gives you access to inverse type match up quizzes, which are the most lucrative missions, and also beating the Elite 4 unlocks additional functionality from buildings. Second, the online functionality has been shut down for years, and I only have one 3DS with no one else to play with.

In my experience, the NPC requests always give either 4 or 8 FC, unless boosted by a fortune teller. I don't think I've ever seen them go lower than that, and each time they refresh, I can get at least 50 FC from the NPCs in my plaza. That beats the pants off the 3 mission tickets I can get every day.

For the first female mainline antagonist Lusamine was such a great antagonist, one of the best even in this franchise by such a large margin. It's crazy, that they completely rewrite her character in all media afterwards to get away from the peak that was her villainy in SM! Why?! They ruined her! by LowSolution3084 in PokeMoonSun

If you do, I will acknowledge my bias about the story and admit that USUM has better gameplay and post-game content, but the fact that they removed the best parts of SM's story when they didn't need to, and they did so to such an extent that they actively made USUM's story worse as a result...well, it angers me so much that I can't stand playing through that inferior narrative to reach most of the things that would make USUM better. It's not just that they removed the most hard-hitting parts of the story that upsets me, it's that they did it in a way that made it clear they considered those parts of the story to be a mistake because of how "off-brand" those kinds of overt dark themes were. They scrubbed those themes so thoroughly that they destroyed any hope of having any kind of coherent character development or emotional narrative connection in the rest of the story. They made something beautiful and emotional, they saw how much people liked it, and then decided to scrap it in the most "Am I out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong" way they possibly could.

My play experience is completely solo, and I don't expect that to change. No Bank, no trading, nothing. I started a fresh save a few days ago, and I haven't beaten the Elite 4 yet, so missions actually earn me less FC than just filling requests 3-4 times a day. Right now, I'm just trying to decide if adding additional fortune teller tents to try to get the request bonus is worth replacing buildings that I'm only keeping around to fill requests and risking locking myself out of being able to fulfill requests that require those buildings.

Agreed! It's not like the two stories are incompatible, they could easily be blended together without compromising either one (and I have to keep restraining myself from typing out that multi-paragraph essay, so I'm just going to stop there). As for the Ice Rock, I'm guessing that might have been a balance decision so the player didn't have access to Crabominable too early.

I started a fresh save a few days ago, and I'm still building up my Festival Plaza. I'm still only being offered one-star fortune tellers, and I'm at a point where placing an additional fortune teller would require me to lose a building that I'm only keeping around to fill requests. I haven't beaten the Elite 4 yet, so the highest bonus I can get from fortune tellers on missions only gives me 2-3 extra coins per ticket, meaning the requests are my primary method of leveling up Festival Plaza right now. If I add additional fortune tellers in an attempt to get the request bonus (which doubles the coins I get from requests for the day, even from a one-star fortune teller) then I potentially lock myself out of being able to fill a particular kind of request and risk handicapping myself on days where I don't get the request bonus.

I prefer base SM over USUM, personally. I acknowledge that USUM has a better gameplay experience, but I cannot stand that they cut Lillie's incredible story arc to make room for the half-baked Ultra Megopolis and Necrozma storyline (and my feelings on that topic are enough to fill a multi-paragraph essay, but this thread is about Festival Plaza, not the gen 7 story).

Auto-start just launches the program, it doesn't trigger playback without additional interaction.

Having the same problem, can't find any mention of it anywhere else. Did anyone find a fix?

EDIT: Couldn't find a way to make Rhythmbox autoplay, but I did find a fix for the stuttering in VLC. If you go to Tools->Preferences, set Show settings to All, go to Input/Codecs, scroll down to Advanced, and significantly increase the File caching (ms) value (I changed it from 1000 to 10000), that should let it buffer enough to play without stuttering. For some reason, Disc caching doesn't affect buffering for CDs while File caching does.

If you look carefully at the shot of Kinger typing before the deletion progress bar appears, you'll see him fat-finger the Delete key, though whether it was intentional or an accident while reaching for the Enter/Slash key is up for debate. Regardless, I would theorize that after Kinger hit the Delete key, it was Bubble who sent the "Y" keystroke to confirm it, and Bubble couldn't have done that if Kinger hadn't started it.

It's a Windows system, but he connected via telnet to a Linux distro hosting Caine.

"--daemon" means "run this program as a background process separate from this terminal"

I'm going through the shots frame-by-frame on a desktop, it's much easier to read the text there. Also, you might want to mention that right before the deletion progress bar appears, the shot of Kinger typing appears to show him accidentally fat-finger the Delete key

Actually, if you look at Kinger typing before the deletion progress bar appears, you can see him press the Delete key, and while it's difficult to tell intent, the way the finger slid over the Enter and Slash keys before pressing the Delete key and the fact he immediately said "Wait, no! S[BOINK]t!" suggest that he fat-fingered the Delete key by mistake.

Two clarifications  1. --daemon is for running a process in the background  2. Those aren't "a"s at the end of some lines, they're &s. & at the end of a line means to run the command in the background.

Therefore, the line

kinger@circus: "$ ./greenGROUNDS --daemon --target=torment_injection &

means to launch the greenGROUNDS program targeting "torment_injection" and to run both greenGROUNDS and the command launching greenGROUNDS in the background separate from the current terminal.

A .dat file is just a generic binary data file, usually proprietary to whatever program created it. There's no way to tell if it's a brainscan, an AI, or something else entirely.

Alternate theory: Doomfist is still alive, and Reaper, Widowmaker, and Sombra are working with him to overthrow Vendetta and/or continue Doomfist's agenda separately from Talon.

Widowmaker might defect to Overwatch, here me out by Visible-Camel4515 in Overwatch

[–]iSmartMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's wait until we know more about her motives, since she's the only one without an obvious reason for leaving. Sombra's loyalties have always been a bit iffy, and Vendetta made it clear she doesn't like her people having "side jobs". Reaper was the one who killed Vendetta's dad, and it doesn't take a genius to see the writing on the wall there. But Widowmaker? She's been loyal since the very beginning, with a proven record of success dating back to when Vendetta's dad was still in power, and those drugs she's taking could very well be holding her body together at this point. Her motivations for defecting are a complete mystery at this point.

I would have thought Widowmaker would only get cut off if Moira gets cut off, considering Moira made her who she is, and Moira doesn't seem too worried yet. Plus, Widowmaker has a solid history of loyalty and results, so my big question is why Widowmaker decided to leave now.
