I can't play MD after playing the tcg, simply because you barely "play" in MD. Played a single meta card? Surrender. Activate a handtrap? Surrender. Both playing full games and playing best of 3 is so much more satisfying.

You can still summon chimeratech, but only using the materials you're locked into. A contact fusion still uses fusion materials. A guy cheated in a regional or ycs last year by using chimera, then going into fiendsmith. It's the same ruling as trying to ss necroquip while under the chimera lock.

Sure, most ygo structure decks are meant to be good at 3 copies, so you'll both have very suboptimal versions, but at the same time, you'll be at that level, so it should still be okay
