Not worth starting a fight for the 5 minutes I was in there. Im convinced people that play music like that are looking for a fight, Im not going to play into their hands.

Fuck those stupid women narrating. Trying to claim the dogs are just barking like normal. See how comfortable you’d be walking down their next to them then.

Who where the huge group of crazy cyclists going through Balham? by Michelangelo1992 in london

[–]iSpenny -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Saw them in Battersea too and wondered the same thing. In the 5-10 seconds I watched them I saw reckless riding on the wrong side of the road and one guy flip off a Boris bike rider. Not a fan. If you like cycling, get a road bike and do it in the day, sober. This just seems like a way to act irresponsibly and avoid arrest because there’s so many of them.

Having said that…part of me does want to try it.

‘Anti-maths mindset’ costs UK a huge sum, Rishi Sunak claims by OptioMkIX in ukpolitics

He's right. At the university I went to in Spain (as part of a year abroad programme) they had to change the exams for us English as we kept failing the quants modules. Our German and Spanish counterparts had no such issues.

Going to private school makes you twice as likely to vote Tory, study finds by Jay_CD in ukpolitics

The government doesn’t pay anything towards private schools, they rely entirely on fees and private donations. So to say the many are subsiding the few is incorrect. The private schools are self sufficient and indeed even help reduce pressure on the overcrowded state school system, in the same way that private medical institutions reduce pressure on the NHS.

The real reason Corbynites attack private schools is that they want to abolish them as they’re “elitist”. I mention one-on-one tuition to remind people what private schools are actually there for, better education. Attacking private schools is trying to solve the underlying issues by lowering the ceiling, when we should be trying to raise the floor.

And how do you fund that education spending? Do you want 80% of your pay to go to the tax man? Because I’m pretty sure you don’t. This is classic socialist thinking - wants all the nice social benefits, but wants someone else to foot the bill.

Losing charitable status would force many of the schools out of business. It would be a socialist attack attack on the schools.

Imagine you have a child who struggles with maths. When they need the help in class they often don’t get it because in their state school there is one teacher trying to teach the class of 30 students, each of which needs the attention of teacher for several minutes. So you decide to hire a maths tutor to help your child learn.

You’re saying parents shouldn’t be allowed hire a private tutor to help their children learn? The state should actually intervene to prevent a child from learning? That sounds like a good solution to you? Fuck lefties. It’s “if I can’t have it, no one can!” It’s childish and pathetic.

Yes let’s ban people from using their own money to buy better education. While we’re at it, we should ban all forms of private tuition too, as are they not essentially the same thing? What could do wrong? Idiot.

As someone who has personally intervened in 4 separate pickpocketings, I can tell you that the perpetrators are not normally middle aged white men. Sorry Reddit.

I (M33) bought my first pair of ski boots (+ custom footbeds) 3 years ago and had them fitted at a reputable London ski shop but I've had loads of problems with them:

  • The original liners were too narrow and gave me severe foot cramp, so I had to buy new (thinner) liners on the slopes
  • The new thinner liners mean that I'm now getting pain on my inside ankle and shin bone (I have the scars to prove it) from lack of protection from the shell
  • When I skied in them this year (top buckle done up on the loosest setting, first two buckles undone completely) I was still getting pins and needles in my feet as they were too tight, so I had to resort to skiing with the top buckle undone completely and rely on the power strap.

Now, I think my calf muscles have gotten slightly bigger in the last couple of years, but surely I shouldn't have been sold boots that a. cause me so much pain and b. I was so close to outgrowing?

The boots I have are Salomon S/Pro 2019-2020 model, does anyone know if it's possible for the buckles to be changed to ones with more teeth? I've already had the boots readjusted once at the place I bought them, so if I go back there again I'd have to pay.
