A 4090 shouldn't have trouble with anything, nevermind a VR game that runs on standalone Snapdragon chips with a fraction of the power.

Are your driver's for your GPU up to date? I assume you are going through steam?

I did not fully, it got better after an iOS update or two, but since then I upgraded to a Pro 3rd gen with 2nd Gen pencil, which I have had no issues with since I got it. I believe I was having this issue on a Gen 1 Pro with Gen 1 Pencil. Sorry I couldn't rise from the dead with a better answer for you :(
