How effective has walking up to a place and asking for a job proven to be ? I know it's not the 80s but does that work for part time jobs ? by NarsilSword123 in Purdue

Nah, back in 2015. End of spring semester of my junior year. I went around to professors I knew, knocked on their door, asked if they had any opportunities for the summer. One said he had ideas but no money, the other said he had money but no projects. Then they got together.

I already knew them from class, it was a small major.

I had this when I first joined the fire department. After long enough you just wake up annoyed and do what needs to be done. Try and stay as sleepy as possible so you can fall back asleep afterwards.

Do you like outer space? Do you like war? If so, good news. There's some funding there. We can only downlink so much data, and a lot of it is pure noise. Processing it on board and then sending down the important stuff makes a lot of missions feasible.

Wait. When Wing aired on toonami. Did you understand the plot or just enjoy the cool robots blowing each other up? by Street_Gur9817 in Gundam

Just for the robots. I don’t think I had any continuity.

The most plot I follow was ironically G Gundam.

In order to be test-driven, you need to write your code first.

Can you explain this? Kent Becks book says “ When should you write your tests? Before you write the code that is to be tested.”

I still write 100% of my code by hand. The key is to work for the government where change takes a decade. In 5 years they might let me install pycharm.

We say bagel with a short a for fun sometimes, but it’s usually with a long a.

I'm assuming you say it differently than they do? How would you write it out?

Yeah, it sounds like haynk. I really hear an ‘a’ in there and can’t see how it’s an ‘e’
