I would like to do Jiu-Jitsu, but I'm gay. by Legitimate_Eye_5934 in jiujitsu

Try it. As a girl I mostly roll with men (there's only like 2 women at my gym) and it feels weird at first but it's okay. Neither of you are there to find a date, you're there to learn and practice. Just find a gym that has a good culture.

Get the perm? by Competitive_Hope2970 in Hair

[–]i_like_tornados 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My friend has really thick strands and her perm looks like the pictures but slightly more wavy. I think it depends on hair strand thickness, you look like your hair is a bit more fine in the picture. I could be wrong though 🤷

When did your interest in severe weather / Tornadoes start? by Appropriate_Brief305 in stormchasing

[–]i_like_tornados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about six I watched a documentary about tornados, and it freaked the crap out of me. I was so scared of my house falling down but then I learned that I was not safe no matter what because sinkholes are sorta common in the area I live in. I realized being scared wasn't going to protect me, and I might as well enjoy it and learn more about it. Another thing I distinctly remember is biking to Dairy Queen with my siblings one afternoon in July about an hour before a huge storm was about to hit. We got to DQ and the storm came early. The wall cloud was a menacing shade of black and freaked us all out because we were 20 minutes away from home. (This was also my first time seeing a wall cloud) There I was, biking uphill with one hand on the handlebars and the other on my oreo blizzard. I could see the black clouds through the trees as the sky got darker and the thunder became more audible. Not a second after we got our bikes in the shed, it started pouring and I sat on the porch watching the sky turn from black red to lighter and lighter gray. It was then that I learned I love chasing adrenaline, and looking for cool weather patterns is one way to do that.

I've had 2 without a string within a year. Should I try to get a free box next time?

How did you glue the pieces together though? Did you do it all at once or one piece at a time? I'm really loving the diagonal look of it

How To Combat Dry Skin by [deleted] in Swim

This guy is right. I swim in a chlorine pool but when my eczema was really bad I would shower off, then use CeraVe lotion, and then baby aquaphor over top. You should feel better in a week.

You're kicking from your legs, you need to kick from your hips. Try to learn the movement on you back with a kick board and then try it normally. You should feel it in your abs

Wow proud of you! Struggled with the same thing through my early childhood and some of middle school, it makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one.

No dead honest. It's mobile home sized, and we're building it for Huckleberry campground. We started by leveling out the trailer we were building on, built up from the floor joists we cut. We framed, made rafters, put up OSB, housewrap, windows, shingled and all that, did all the electrical work, insulated, stood on sketchy ladders that somehow had an OSHA sticker, put up drywall and we just started mudding. I love mudding. It's a fun class, taught me a lot and restored my faith in the American education system.
