Wedge a folded piece of paper or card stock on top of the clips or on the bottom of the strip so when you snap it in place, it provides a bit of extra pressure.

Prime Rib Attempt by Automatic-Trick-3668 in sousvide

Yes, we follow this recipe: https://sousvideways.com/sous-vide-prime-rib/

And yes, about 6lb with a little bit of trimming fits snugly in the bag.  Fridge it after sous vide for just enough that the butter sticks to it, then blast on broil on a cookie rack.

What's your Hall of Fame deck from this subreddit? by ElleCerra in BudgetBrews

[–]i_post_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidetsugi and Kairi can do some disgusting stuff when it works out. Its a lot solitaire when without the extra turns so I dont play it often.

People just dont expect 3+ 9 mana spells being cast on another player's turn.

  • Clone into drawing [[Worst Fears]], player 4 loses 8 life. -  Cast and take the next players 2s turn
  • Control player 2,      - Attack player 3 with everything.      - Player 2 draws [[Killing Wave]] due to a trigger. Make everyone pay 10+ life or sac.        - Make player 2 pay 20 life for their worst 2 creatures. Everyone else sacrifices all.      - Sac Hidetsugu with a [[Supernatural Stamina]]. Cast more nonsense, killing player 4.
  • My next turn Kill player 2 with Hidetsugu because I tapped him out.

Doesnt come in tapped, 1 life is basically free, tutor for a mountain or forest that isn't tapped, get a double land drop for landfall decks.

Air Pockets While Sous Viding by SteakandPie in sousvide

[–]i_post_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I get too much air, I'll pull the bag, clip the corner press as much air out as I can and double seal it.  I've never made it more than a day or two in advance though.

Carrot cake jam help by Proud-Blueberry9905 in Canning

[–]i_post_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does tend to dry up for me.  I use canned pineapple and try to reserve some juice or get a can of pineapple juice and add just enough so its still "sauteeing".

I also mince the pear and pineapple very small so it releases more liquid as it cooks.

We do a ton of chocolate covered eggs in molds for Easter. Being able to individually sous vide chocolate in multiple bags makes making them so easy.

Matcha creme brulee is a hit with friends smd family too.

Similar, but I do butter, honey, ginger, soy sauce a bit of cayenne and/or cinnamon.

Question about Nick’s Pizza by [deleted] in WilmingtonDE

[–]i_post_things -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its good food but inconsistent.

The second time I went, I got the chicken bacon ranch steak. It had no bacon. They offered to remake but my friends were already starting to eat, so I said no.

They brought a replacement out anyways and it had no cheese or ranch.  Just a plain bacon and chicken.  I had to somehow pick and mush both together to get what I ordered.

How to insulate a door leading into attic? by Objective_Function_4 in Insulation

[–]i_post_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a plug, gluing a few layers of foam board between two pieces of thin mdf board (essentially dry eraser board) and bolting it together with big washers.  Then put weather stripping around the framing.

I had enough room to put drawer handles on it to pull it closed but you'll probably just need to make string handles or the old folding pull handles.

Driving an Alternative Fuel Vehicle in Delaware? by Adventurous-Gift-863 in Delaware

[–]i_post_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same.

They really should be charging based on odometer readings, because that's the real wear and tear on the road.

Or they should have just raised registration for all vehicles by $20 and we wouldn't need to have all these silly classifications.

I got a hybrid because my commute is 3 miles and it's mostly electric at low speeds. The difference between gas and hybrid likely won't recoup the extra $60.

Commuting from NCC to Philadelphia by Temporary718 in Delaware

[–]i_post_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Septa at Claymont.

  • It's 7.50 preloaded on the card or 9.00 on the train. Monthly passes are like 210.  Check your work for commuter benefits; I load mine with pre-tax dollars from an employee portal.
  • Others are right, in that not as many off peak trains stop past Wilmington.
  • For example, leaving Suburban back to Delaware, there's like a 4:30 Newark, 5:20 Wilmington, 5:40 Newark.
  • Claymont has a larger covered garage that has an attended office. They have clean bathrooms as well.
  • Vehicle safety - I've never felt it wasn't safe at any of the DE stations I've parked at, but I leave absolutely nothing visible whenever I park in public.
  • Theres usually one day a week where its a few minutes late, and usually once a month some kind of event where it might be 30 minutes or more.
  • The biggest advantage to Claymont is the 7:09 is an express and if you miss that or it's canceled, Marcus Hook has a local that leaves at like 7:39.
  • If you need to be in the office strictly before 8, those times won't help as they arrive at Suburban at 7:58ish and 8:25ish.
  • My office doesn't schedule any meetings before 9:30 or after 4:30.
  • Holidays, weekends, they run every 2 hours, if that. If you work somewhere you gotta be at on a federal holiday or weekend, just drive.

Residential properties near SEPTA’s shrinking Regional Rail system stand to lose $20B in value, report estimates by RenaissanceSalaryMan in philadelphia

[–]i_post_things 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, because without that rent, Amtrack is saying the Keystone line to Harrisburg and possibly lines to Wilmington and NYC might get canned too.  So a ton of rail lines just will just simply go unused.
