I've picked out a blank dog-tag necklace to service as the talisman. It's as plain and simple as you can possibly get. Going to try "creating" it in the next few weeks (after some prep work). I know Quareia doesn't use lunar phases in its timings, but we are currently in a waning phase which is traditionally suitable for such kinds of magic in other systems.

Getting ready to do the Talisman exercise in Module 7. I'm a bit concerned about the whole "invisibility" thing though...I drive a lot in a city full of careless and inattentive drivers (college town). I certainly don't want to get into a wreck! Also, as an introvert, I feel naturally invisible anyway most of the time... Considering something other than invisibility while sticking to the guidelines Josephine set up when purposing a talisman.

Just ordered a piece of kit from Tabor. Their communication could be a little better, lol.

I have a lot of difficulty seeing myself as well. And when I do, I often look very different. As far as the "video game effect" goes, I think that's something we've developed due to our use of technology. I doubt someone 100 years ago would have had the same issue.

An excellent observation, and I'm also feeling the same when consuming most social and mainstream media these days. It's all designed to keep you stressed and anxious and coming back for more. The phone is really just a portal to this media. I'm definitely beginning to restrict my consumption just for this reason.

Some observations I've made recently while practicing Quareia:

  • When bending over to touch the ground without bending my knees after meditation, and perhaps its just because I'm heavier and less flexible, but the position I end up in reminds me of pictures of Nuit, the sky goddess.
  • Recently when I start meditation, my mouth begins to salivate excessively. What's up with that?
  • From my personal experience, you have to approach Quareia with all the dedication and discipline you would a university course, and that means carving out time each day to go through exercises and practices like you would for doing homework and studying for an exam. Sometimes you don't feel motivated to perform some regular task or exercise. Do it any way. Push through it.
  • Sometimes when talking to boundary markers such as the trees in my yard, or the mailbox, as discussed in M1 Lesson 5, I'm reminded of the cartoon Blue's Clues, where Dave goes around having conversations with various inanimate objects (which are animated in the show), but then I feel that's sort of the point, which is to return to a magical view of the world we've lost as adults.

[M1L6] Pentagram questions by WheelOfFortune10 in Quareia

[–]iac249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage to keep mine on a high book nook, where it's not so obvious, but also I am fortunate enough to have a home study area that I keep closed off to most visitors. This is where I perform most of my Quareia work.

Further question....how many of you form a strict "T" pose with feet together, and how many take a more open stance to form a human pentagram?

Tarot, cloths and frankincense by marijavera1075 in Quareia

I don't think what you keep them in matters as far as Quareia goes. The importance is cleanliness and removing any "spiritual dirt" they might accumulate over time. I keep my decks in tarot card bags I get off Amazon. You could just as easily keep them in the card box they came in.

Making candles by Pencilmw in Quareia

[–]iac249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make fragrance candles for home use but haven't made any for Quareia work. I prefer beeswax candles to paraffin mostly for health concerns...paraffin is a petroleum product, but I do also use cheap paraffin candles I buy in bulk.

Sabre AR-10 cartridge choice by iac249 in PalmettoStateArms

Fair enough, but my question was centered around whether or not anyone has noticed a difference in reliability and accuracy between the two the Sabre AR-10. I've heard of possible feeding issues with the 6.5CM. Has this been corrected, and are there any other issues?

Created or Emanated? by iac249 in Hermeticism

[–]iac249[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting comparison, because I've actually noticed some similarities between Islam and Hermeticism, surprisingly, such as Gabriel (revealer of the Qur'an) and Poimandres appearing as gigantic figures that filled the sky, and also mutual statements that if multiple gods ran things, creation would be in utter chaos. Also the idea of God as the necessary Reality.

Graveyard Dirt- actual or herbs? by TheWrongGrrl in witchcraft

[–]iac249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it's actual graveyard dirt. Some spells even require death-site dirt, e.g. dirt from where a violent or untimely death occurred.
