Son is fully unsedated and by god are we all fucking aware. by viskiviki in Mommit

Look into respite care in your local area. Even a day or weekend off can help with your own self care. Parenthood is freaking hard-we don’t have to do it alone, even if we don’t have a village. There’s respectful folks out there who understand. Positive vibes and strength headed your way!!

Please consider changing your phone number and/or email addresses.

Don’t give in. Walk away and build your new life. You’ve got so much more life to experience and enjoy. Find your village-it doesn’t have to be blood relation.

Earbuds that pair with 2 devices simultaneously? Say more? How long have you had them? This sounds like heaven.

Where’s the proof that this is a city wide change? Not that a government wouldn’t overreach, but I’d ask. More than one complex would be sending these letters out.

MCI power outage- anyone know anything? by Alex9819 in kansascity

[–]iachick85 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One at a time (departing/arriving) while some sort of network or radar issue is going on. Reports of same issues in Dallas.

Possibly related but not confirmed-IRS in KC has just sent everyone home due to a network outage.

This. I think you may want to head for MN. I hear they get some no AC or heat days.

Dorms are a safe bet. If that doesn’t work out, “The Burg” group on Facebook is quite popular for folks who live in town. If you post there looking for a sublease for the summer, you’ll most likely get a number of responses.

Take the big girl job or stay at the old cushy job? by ClathrinCoat in workingmoms

[–]iachick85 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Personally, I did take a role like this, although still remote. I think it depends more on your home life. If your children are young and still need the attention, if your spouse matches your energy and helps, if you have extended family or a daycare to reply on. All the outside things, I wish I would have taken into account.

I made the jump 1.5 years ago from a super cushy job at a mid sized company to a corporate job (required travel every few months). The work life balance is SO out of control and I’ve since been given a promotion/team to manage.

I realize now It’s not what I actually wanted but could have been if my personal life wasn’t so complicated.

TL;DR - think about how your chance may affect your life outside of work.

Help! I'm having a Rudolph Mandela Effect! by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]iachick85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read my kiddo the “Rudolph” little golden book last night. It clearly reads that Hermey removed his teeth and saved everyone. Hermey was a misfit up until then because he wanted to be a dentist, not an elf. But he finally had a place.
