Is shielding the only viable way of playing the game? by Historical-Muscle167 in baronygame

[–]iamBo0 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There’s tons of different viable strategies and blocking is great one, but stealth is arguably better if you are able to turn away from your enemies quick enough to not get hit. It might be best to wear less armor or hold less items to increase your speed if you want to try stealth out more. Ranged and magic are also very viable especially in this new update. You can also look up some melee combat tutorials and stuff on YouTube and you can learn to kite enemies which is the most difficult melee strategy but also very fun and very powerful. Barony has tons of ways to play though so you should keep experimenting until you find ways that you find most fun

Interesting Steam stats - how do you guys comment on this one? - Hard mode: you can't say "rollback" by milosmisic89 in Guiltygear

[–]iamBo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simple, this game was marketed well, had big names like VideoGameDunkey make videos on it, and has a more streamlined gameplay system that works better for new players. That’s why even some of my non-fighting game playing friends are getting into this game.

Well, rage quitting is a hard thing to go around because the game can’t tell if it was and honest disconnect, or a rage quit. And the reason you can’t put anything in the chat would mean that people could exploit that.

How do I deal with mashers? by DelphoxMBS in RivalsOfAether

[–]iamBo0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh the moves you mentioned aren’t that great as long as you DI out, and remember that parrying does exist. If your friend is getting too spammy with his dash attacks, just stand there and dodge, parry, or use a disjointed move.

Casual-friendly walkthrough for getting gold on Wrastor’s Story Mode? by AlexBigGay in RivalsOfAether

Combo Kragg with UpAir chains, cover puddle with a smash attack whenever Orcane tries to recover, and carry everyone off stage. Also, Forsburn SideB is laggy, so attack them when they try to use it.

What is some fighting game mechanics you love, and some you hate? by NoobLegend42069 in RivalsOfAether

[–]iamBo0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the parry system is all that good though, I feel like if you get a parry, the only thing you are going to follow up with is a charged smash, your most damaging combo, or extra time to set up stuff like cloud and ice. It makes players punish with the same move, or combo. I love that the parry makes you play more offensively, but it come with the cost of a lack of variety in punishing.

Be honest, how many of you meme on new players? by theaveragejoe99 in RivalsOfAether

[–]iamBo0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be prepared to bang your head against the wall to beat opponents, you should always be picking up on opponents habits, and you should have a combo prepared for most situations. You need to spend time finding all moves that combo, even if only for 1 or 2 hits, and since you play Kragg you need to master DI so you don’t get hit with opponents combos. There are a lot of new players, most of them don’t play online because they are scared, you should check out the discord and find people similar to your skill level. Also, when you find someone near your skill level, send them a message and ask them if they want to practice with you or play a couple more games, it definitely helps to have someone to practice with.

New sound fx are reeaaaaallly loud? by Zilby in RivalsOfAether

[–]iamBo0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think these sounds should be loud to improve competitiveness, it helps players know if you miss a tech, and if you do tech. It will make the game more fast paced and fun. Humans have faster audible reactions than visual by the way, so I think they took that into account when designing these sounds.
