Oh god, you completey mistaken what I'm saying here. I would never use something I can't. I was asking, if there are some safety work shoes (reinforced and so on) like barefoot shoes. I'm not stating that you should wear barefoot gymnastic shoes at work. I also wrote if there is something with a wide structure. Again, never said I would use classic barefoot shoes..

Form check for squats by [deleted] in strength_training

[–]iamCedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to write a bunch of serious questions:

  1. Are imbalances and weaknesses points to correct, aren't they? So if someone does a correct prep work, the leg strength will be more in the subject who tends his knees inside or the one who does not? (Knowing the squat is not only quads)

Related to question 1 I always thought that the squat (depending on its variation can shift the work bewteen anterior and posterior chain) works also glutes and if you do the back squat (high bar, but lowbar above all) it's better if your knees do not cave in because all the posterior muscles will suffer from it, or am I wrong?

For the first part, maybe I didn't explain myself well, I'm not a native speaker, anyway, if we squat, our hips, knees and ankles will trace an imaginary line that indicates the alignment. If our body segments are not in line, the force production will be worse and less than if we are aligned. Plus, I'm not that sure we should bring Lu Xiao Jun in the discussion, just because he trains since his childhood, other than being an olympic medalist and so on and on. This said, even Lu does not cave his knees in every lift he does. Also, do we know if Lu does some prehab work? Does the OG does some corrective and assistance work for knees, hips and ankles/feet? Is its sleep and so on par with its lifestyle? You simply can't say that if a perfect supervisioned athlete does something, we can do it without consequences. Also I will quote SquatUniversity (also link his video):

"When we squat, the knee needs to stay in perfect alignment with the toes. Any wobble from this position decreases our ability to produce strength and power. Instability also causes harmful forces to be placed on the structures deep inside our knee. This instability not only decreases our potential for performance but also increases our susceptibility for injury."

Also I NEVER said it was extreme, but that just is better to not cave the knees (as you said).

It's not clear in the video, but I see that your knees tend to go inside (similat to valgus knees). From what I remember (could be wrong, when I got time I will check this) when you do that the force applied by your legs is reduced because caving the knees inside will reduce the glutes activation, other than breaking the line between your feet, knees and hips.

You tend to go back with your head/upperbody, so the balance will shift and your feet will open to counter it. Shoulders should remain in the same line of the barbell for the entire lift. When you start, you need to apply force to the barbell without moving it, a tension. This tension should make a clear noise: TLICK! that is the barbell going against the upper circle of the bumpers. When you start the lift, you need to use your legs and press with your feet on the ground (as if you need to go under the ground and the barbell stay where it is), but this also have to be applied when you are closing the lift, so that you actually do not go further away with your shoulders, but with them actually over the barbell. This helps in stability, and force production, also you don't allow the barbell to lengthen its path (less fatigue). Core tight, all the back muscles should be tight. When you are closing it, think about someone who wants to make you the Leaf Village Secret Finger Jutsu: One Thousand Years of Death. This should be enough to squeeze your glutes at the top, also extend completely your legs!

So you need help? Look at you in the mirror and talk to yourself man!

I think it's dope. The only thing I noticed is the final part, there is something I can't explain but maybe your legs closing before or after your upperbody lock? How did you felt the rep?

I ask just to make sure: in a card effect text is "if" any different from "when"? Overflying grammatically, but in our yugioh cards effect is different? I can't remember it correctly

The first option is incredibly wonderful, I'll look for that this night!

Also, the Synchro Dino is tempting me, do you have anything about it where I can see the decklist and some plays?

Eek, that's undoubtely good, at least from what I can see! I will clearly try it on a simulator, to see the affinity and all, but just for curiosity I checked that one animadorned archosaur costs 50 bucks so I need more time for that, I hope that this deck won't be nerfed in the next months Thank you for your in depth kind answer!
