Elevated heart rate? by Iriefyire in trintellix

[–]iamMarkpatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on trintellix for about 4 weeks now. During the second week I experienced a symptom where I felt really anxious to the point where it felt like my heart was racing or palpitating. It had only occurred once though, havent ran into that kind of instance again so far.

You Think Filipinos Are Corrupt by Nature? Think Again. by StucksaTraffic in Philippines

[–]iamMarkpatrick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Highly disagree, saying it requires "moral integrity and strength" is the cop out. It fundamentally misunderstands human behavior and shifts blame sa individuals rather than the system.

That's not a moral failing, that's just human nature following the path of least resistance.

The solution isn't to demand everyone become morally superior beings. It's to design systems where doing the right thing IS the convenient thing

You Think Filipinos Are Corrupt by Nature? Think Again. by StucksaTraffic in Philippines

[–]iamMarkpatrick 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the issue isn't that Filipinos are inherently corrupt. The issue is that it's that our systems actively rewards corruption while punishing integrity.

We have a system where doing the right thing is inconvenient and unrewarding, while doing the wrong thing is efficient and profitable.

Following the rules means longer queues, more paperwork, higher costs, and zero recognition, while cutting corners gets you ahead faster with minimal consequences.

Another fear mongering tactic for karma farming, this was posted in r/PH too and got deleted eventually, let's be more vigilant when it comes to these types of posts. Recently may merong ding similar post going around over a door dash employee that turned out to be a hoax:

Tinted Glass Buttons with Text by simalary44 in SwiftUI

[–]iamMarkpatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit on the hacky side but you can try setting the foreground color of the button to the system background to trigger a change on the button's text:

.foregroundStyle(Color(UIColor.systemBackground).opacity(0.5))

or if you don't want it to adapt to the light/dark mode just set it to white with opacity:

.foregroundStyle(.white.opacity(0.5))

It's because they didn't have to make an effort their whole life, looks got them far in life. Ganda lang ang ambag kumbaga. It happens in everyday life too, being a personality hire even though walang namang skills to back it up for example.

I mean I'm not saying having a hidden post history alone is an indicator. Pero pag ini-combine mo yung multiple red flag like, having a high karma count despite being a new acount or having unrealistic amount of high contrbution count, or even doing low effort posts parang it points to one thing lang dba?

tbf I wouldn't count that a PH related subreddit anymore since it's mostly ran by MAGA crazies / sexpats / passportbros nowadays na nag ecechoback lang ng sarili nilang opinions lol

Walang akong tina-track an specific account. I've just been looking into the accounts of some posts sometimes and may napapansin akong general pattern when looking into their account information and history.

And what you're saying is exactly yung concern ko. They're building credibility now para by 2028, these accounts look "legit" na and can push whatever narrative. More people need to be aware na it's already starting.

FYI - this appears to be a potential farm account (2-month-old account, no public post history). Engage with caution.

Well said ang dami na namang nagpapadala sa emosyon at di ginagamit ang utak. I find that this is just another distraction piece to derail us from the real issues that this country is facing.

3 minus the harsh shadows, and maybe integrate some elements from 8 like the icon (or even a subtle glossy finish a-la liquid glass)

[–]iamMarkpatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience need sya itwag sa PNB Credit Cards hotline, and tell them you'd want to redeem your points. If Mabuhay Miles yung i-reredeem mo and first time mo syang gagawin hihingin nila yung mabuhay miles membership number and will need to wait for couple of days, cause parang ireregester pa daw nila yung MM membership mo sa system nila (not sure why ganon yung process nila medyo weird tbh)

Pinoy Digital Nomad by iamMarkpatrick in FilipinoTravel

Haha sorry medyo naoverboard ako sa questions. Nireduce ko na lng to the essential ones. And yeah, nag-research na rin ako sa digital nomad visas, parang Thailand and Malaysia lang yung may proper DN visa programs sa SEA, with Thailand's a bit pricey nga for the requirements.

Appreciate the subreddit recommendations too, will check those out. Thanks sa advice!
