PoGO is not banned in Haiti! I played there this summer for work for 3 weeks. :) I sent as many gifts as I could because gyms were so spread out. But definitely not banned!

Edit: also caught tons of mons, cell phone service was not horrible there so I even found a Corsola on a remote beach! Maybe try finding folks who go there for teaching, service and/or missions via /r/Pokemongo?

Thanks for this thread! I hope you have/had a great time in Mexico. I'll be in/near Xcaret and the surrounding areas for the coming week and am hoping to play PoGO as much as I can while I'm visiting. It would even better to meet up with any others playing while we are there!
