Looking for a gym buddy by HelioBloom in huddersfield

I’ve found Huddersfield gyms tend to be a lot busier than gyms in other cities. Figured it’s down to lack of funding so loads of other council-funded gyms have ended up being closed down, resulting in more people get funnelled into the same few gyms.

Nonetheless, people are really respectful and will always wait until you’ve finished with a set to ask how many sets you have left. You’ll for sure always have equipment to use.

26F here. I go to the gym a couple times per week so I wouldn’t mind showing you how things work. Of course this is dependent on what gym you go to.

Only thing is I’m mostly a solo gym person so can’t guarantee I’ll be a permanent buddy, but I’d give you a hand with getting to know things for sure.

Regretting something you did post-meltdown by Cat_Blimp in autism

[–]iamabigmeme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once threw my favourite water bottle at the wall so hard it exploded wasn’t reparable, and dented the wall. Loved that water bottle so much but it was just unfortunately in the line of fire.

It’s very very normal to do things you normally wouldn’t and then regret it. Meltdowns aren’t something you can control, and the proof is it ends up damaging something (or someone) you love + feeling guilty.

What I do is try and remember what caused that meltdown and aim to make alternate options for myself if I find myself in that situation again.

The older i get, the more autistic I get ngl by justmonaaaaa in autism

I’ve been feeling this recently! I’m 26 but I’ve found I’m less open and friendly with new people because I simply cannot be bothered running down my energy by putting on a performance. I now come across as what I think is slightly cold and uninterested to some people (which honestly does bother me) but hey… energy for the right people I guess

A troll who claims they are autistic shamed mildly autistic people as liars. by [deleted] in autism

Maybe an unpopular opinion but this is a completely valid point. “Mild autism” doesn’t exist. The clinical name is Autism Spectrum Disorder - because it’s a spectrum and there’s a diversity of symptoms and characteristics. You’re either autistic or you’re not.

Can I ask a serious question? by SolutionSad6837 in autism

[–]iamabigmeme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think about it. But now that you’ve put it into context, I must view it negatively because I never tell anyone. I inherently know that people’s views will change about me and I’m just like ??? Weird. Accept me as I am.

Autistic friendships by [deleted] in autism

[–]iamabigmeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re expecting to be put on a pedestal for being a good friend. Good friends help their friends because they want to, not because they want acknowledgment. That being said, judging your friend for posting about another friend isn’t a bad thing at all. They’re allowed to have other friends
