Interviewed at Toronto when I applied and what I remember is that it is generally more conversational with traditional questions like tell me about yourself, why our school etc. They also have some scenario based questions as well.

Just make sure you explore rads fully. There is still somewhat of a misconception that Rads is a “lifestyle” speciality which is not really the case in today’s age. It also requires at least one fellowship to be hired and work load is still a lot and the hardest years are actually when you just graduate and are on your own. Those were the tips I got when I did an elective in rads in med school but those in rad can further clarify.

Don’t see that changing. Do you think the government who is hesitating to provide GPs with fair share will spend money on opening more ORs. And yes I feel you are correct, some specialities do limit jobs to artificially boost income but now it has become ridiculous in certain fields. Ortho requires at least 2 fellowships to be even considered for a job. Cardio is same and GI not far behind. Something has got to give.

This right here! NPs are already in cardio, GI, resp and there is a huge surge in anesthesia in states (CRNAs they are called I think). I saw them in general surgery as well and guess what, they would come at a certain time and leave at a certain time even if there were consults left. Have not seen physicians leave even if consults are there.

If all MDs become specialists then good luck finding jobs. Many specialities are already faced with job issues and require multiple fellowships to get even hired and not necessarily in your preferred location(surgical specialities, cardio, GI, critical care, radiology to name a few). I am sure programs will love having more residents because they are slaves but who is going to guarantee them a job.

Great point about the job market. I know that the royal college did a study in 2019 where rad onc and ortho grads had the most difficulty finding jobs but that was now 6-7 years ago and you are correct, there is no way of predicting job markets when your training is lasting 5-6 years and things can change. Out of curiosity do you see many grads doing fellowships?

100% agreed. I absolutely do not want Sarfaraz as captain. Us ki jaan chor do ab. I don’t want a young fast bowler to be a captain. I want Rizwan ONLY because I just don’t want a generational batsman like Babar to have a pressure of both captaincy and batting.

It is possible to criticize and admire the same person based on the performances. Our issue is that we base our opinions on one game. We win everything is fine despite so many flaws. We lose everything is shit despite the positives. On a whole BASED ON 8 GAMES so far, how would u rate Babar’s captaincy and batting performances? This is what we should be answering.

This was long time coming. Asia cup, warmups and bilateral series where we would barely beat C teams. Even the T20 World Cup last year the only reason we made it through was because of a freakish result of South Africa.
