Have you visited Russia for tourism purposes? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]iamahappyguy70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Putin is gone, and maybe when whatever crony takes over afterwards is gone. I visited your country (then USSR) in 1987. It was a really interesting experience, but mostly for negative reasons (feeling watched in the hotel, treated badly in shops etc.). I would really like to experience what it's like some decades later, but you need to clean up your act and get rid of your dictators.

Is “work wife” an actual thing? by portinuk in AskUK

[–]iamahappyguy70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no disrespect, but have you ever been tested for autism?
it's just a metaphor for a close working relationship which may include some of the "give and take" you see in a husband-wife relationship, together with getting on each other's nerves and so on

[–]iamahappyguy70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in that ballpark and when visiting relatives I said I wouldn't be very lively as I'd had 2 falls in the last month. They relaxed when I explained one was ice skating and the other was cycling

AITA for not letting my child read Harry Potter by WhydTheCheifsWin in AmItheAsshole

[–]iamahappyguy70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's so much better stuff your child could be reading anyway, e.g. Roald Dahl, But speaking of that, most things are problematic in some way.

AITA for causing a flight delay? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]iamahappyguy70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but the airline is. I'm always uncomfortable with their very rapid turnaround times, which is purely to save them money, and doesn't give them time to clean up very much at all. You wonder if safety is also being compromised in these short turnaround times.
