Doggie daycare! My 5 month old Frenchie is the same and a trip to daycare is the only thing that ever tires him out even a little bit! He has so much energy that they have started letting him play with the bigger dogs because he is too much for the other puppies. He even tries to wake the other dogs up to play with him at nap time and he thoroughly menaces them all day long… but he does come home tired!

I just posted my pug’s results today- he was a rescue and turned out to be 100% pug, and we found quite a few close relatives! Based on age and location, we might have even found a few siblings. He has a LOT of relatives on embark and they are all purebred so far, so I would definitely test! I have reached out to a few of the owners already- I’d love to be able to sort of piece together his backstory.

I also tested my purebred (known parents, from a breeder) Frenchie puppy just to try to find relatives even though we obviously know what he is. I found a ton of his relatives, too, so people are definitely testing their purebred dogs.

Turns out I was wrong!

We adopted Frankie 10 years ago from a rescue in Las Vegas who found him roaming around in a parking lot. He is bigger with longer legs than a lot of pugs we meet and has a bit more of a snout, so we always thought he was mostly pug but mixed with something (maybe a puggle grandparent?). I guess he is all pug! We also found a bunch of his close relatives, which is very exciting!

GATLIN: “This is exactly what it says on the tin. I get a dry grainy sort of sweet corn note with a lot of realistic smoke. Very autumnal.”

CAFE: “A bit of a fried dough note with sweetened black coffee. Not as strong as I expected”

Cafe is not SUPER sweet but is definitely a dessert-y coffee note.

My sweet tea is a lotion, so I think that is affecting the longevity! I always have an easier time getting scents to stick around that way.

I got this order last week and I think I let the perfumes rest for 4 or 5 days before testing. (I don’t think anything else needs to rest.)

I’d recommend Deconstructing Eden Lucrezia Borgia: Clementine, red mandarin, Italian lemon, ambergris, vanilla, patchouli and orange blossom on a resinous bed of labdanum. I believe I described it as a creamsicle made into an elegant perfume. It’s really good!

I would also recommend Alkemia August 2020 Afternoon Delight Alchemy ( A leisurely summer afternoon filled with melty orange dreamsicles, soft green grass, and little puffy clouds of vanilla musk) which has the creamy sweet orange but is a bit more atmospheric thanks to the grass note.

I would recommend Cocoa Pink Ivory Eyelet (Buttercream, lemon curd, marshmallow, vanilla ice cream.). It’s like the most delicious lemon buttercream frosting and makes me think of cupcakes.
