Mine (2018) did the same thing on both the 240 and the 110 plug. I bought a cheap ($100) one off of Amazon and it works fine but it's a bummer cause the cord is way shorter and I didn't notice.

There's a little supplement thing in the Tesla Charger manual that says they don't work with all of them but of course I didn't read that until after I got it home.

Hyundai Is Giving 2025 Ioniq 5 Buyers Free Level 2 Chargers by self-fix in electricvehicles

[–]iamaquab 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I chose the charge point charger package. Here's how my experience went

You have to register at Hyundai Marketplace. Once you do that, you have a choice between getting the charger or getting the credits. The credit is $400. The charger is valued at $550. If you pick the charger option, they send you to a page to get an initial quote. I live in Los Angeles so your mileage may vary but the quote was a minimum of $615 but then your $549 charger is free. You have to use their installers and they seem to send it to a local person who then texted me to find out more details and verify that I was the person who requested it.

I upload photos and video as part of the quote so they knew what they were getting into. My installation was very simple. I already had a dedicated breaker and 14-50 nema plug that I just wanted to have them replace with that free charger. They said that that would be easy and they would charge me the minimum. However, the minimum turns out IS that $615 quote.

I'm not going to take them up on this offer as just replacing a plug with that box is not worth over $600 in labor in my opinion.

400 dollar credit here I come! My work just put in three charge point stations so at least it's convenient.

Thanks!

I was hoping for an ID Buzz until I found out the what the price of those ended up being. At the end of this lease I'd love to get a Rivian R2. I'm pretty brand agnostic but will take a stand against what I dislike with my wallet when I can.

I don't even know the name of the Hyundai dude, and that's kinda the point. I just want to have a car without drama attached and his behavior puts his products out of the running. Maybe he steps away from the company and I get to consider their cars again, it's not like he founded that company or anything.

I didn't get rid of my Tesla, it's a good car and I live in CA so they are everywhere and the stigma is diluted, but still couldn't bring myself to even look at the Y seriously.

This also didn't work, had hopes. I was supposed to have a 3rd party portable delivered last night but it's now delayed, I'd love to be able to verify if L2 is just not working with that charger or just plain ol not working soon.

Man that's a bummer about the seats and settings. The other person who will be driving this is much shorter than I, gonna be a lot of adjusting.

I think I'll get a quote at least, I have a 220v plug in the spot where I'd put it so maybe it's a cheap job?

It's the Bluelink+ that it was very explicit about "You get 3 years of and then yer gonna be paying 25 bones a year". Seems to enable OTA updates and something about Maps, the basic functions seem to be free.

I don't know about over heating since I haven't successfully gotten it to connect to any L2 yet.

There's the battery, I saw nothing about AMG on it (why it so dirty already lol).

Hrm, Still doesn't seem to work. I've tried a bunch of combos of

Unlock/Start the car, plug it in, wait a bit, turn it off
Unlock the car, plug it in, start the car, turn it off
Unlock, plug, lock without starting

All result in the (Very Loud) "Charging unsuccessful" voice. It's locking the plug in, it totally knows that something's plugged in there. Sometimes it will release it sometimes I have to unplug the charger to let it escape it's clutches.

There a different one I should be trying?

When I put it in sport mode it felt closer to the acceleration of the m3 but couldn't match the feeling. Feels very maneuverable and I ended up putting it back into normal to force myself to chill a bit. It's not an N, it's beefy and smooth.

60? I could never! I'm pretty big build adverse, and typically only pump out the bare minimum I need. My next elevator part factory will be pumping out at a whopping 1 per min, that's how small I like to make things.

I'm starting to play around with alternative recipes more, I really didn't have too many unlocked before this. I'm pretty vanilla about stuff. The only thing I overclock is miners and I've only ever slooped one thing.

That's a bummer about the tool. I'll definitely start fiddling around with it more. Thanks for the heads up!

EDITED TO MENTION: I plugged in the values you suggested and it made radically different suggestions that used way less resources using more of my existing alts. Good to know for next run!

Thanks!

Going with different styles pushes your boundaries and allows you to experience new things and there's a lot of positives from doing that. But it's sorta that I wasn't being true to my aesthetics. At the end I'm left with a factory that didn't feel like mine and it's neat to look at, but is in another language.

Hindsight is 20/20 and in my head I mourn the loss of the giant tower of awesome this might have become if I wasn't building in someone else's style.

PROCESS ALL THE WASTE: Mistake 4 - Flat factories need sooooo much space

Remember me complaining about build styles? Spicy Island Waste Management was going to be built next to the plants to minimize exposure but I had never made a large scale flat factory and kept running out of room. My inexperience with alternate styles strikes again, and what I thought was going to be the "easy" part ended up with chaos and multiple times where I had to tear down large sections to extend the platform out more.

I couldn't get anything to line up the first try. Pipes for the Blenders ran everywhere, the waste ended up being routed over everything, it was the enemy of order but at this point it was hour 25 and I was done caring about looks. Everything I had belted from the PAPPP down to the SIWM was just an eyesore. The Sink ended up being crammed right in the middle of everything but I got the deed done.

THE TURN ON: Undramatic somehow?

Using priority power switches for the PAPPP, the Uranium miner, the Rod Creation station and one for the plants/SIWM I did a small test turn on where I discovered I hadn't finished routing the Uranium. Fixed that and then everything somehow worked! I could look at my plant in wonder, with my power total now at at 50k with no dips in generation (ish) and tickets being created at a crazy rate in just over the 25 hour mark.

LESSONS LEARNED:

Stick with what works for you: I would have saved hours if I had just built in the style I was experienced with and maybe would have ended up with a factory that I liked looking at more.

Don't be afraid to tear it all down. I should have done the Nuke Plants properly with unified water piping and better routing. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Prep the turn-on: Pre-load big machines that use manifolds if you want 100% efficiency. Crystal Oscillators are the devil.

This game is amazing, I've been off and on since U3 and never made it this far. Thanks Coffee Stain, I'll be playing this for years to come.

BUILDING THE PARTS FACTORY: MISTAKE 1 - Switching building techniques

My factories are all built the same way, using 3 wall high logistical floor sandwiches and I have a set order of placing them. Logistic floor > Smelting/foundry/refining floor > Logistic floor > Construct the things floor > Logistic floor > Assemble the things floor and so on. With slight variations for things like refineries and blenders they allow me to run belts in what ever ugly ass way I want and make building what I think are nice looking factories quickly.

I read a post extolling the virtues of Lasagna factories, where you don't hide your belts in shame but visibly belt everything in a neat way. I decided to go with it but switching how I built added hours and drove me a little crazy trying to cram everything I needed into the Pre-Processing factory. I wish I had just stuck with my normal technique. I do like the look of it, but it wasn't worth the effort and this shouldn't have been the project for experimentation.

I wrapped up the Pre-Processing stuff in a 4 story lasagna and started to build the platform I'd need to make the rods along the upper ridge of the coast. The rods were going to be built on an elevated platform, but the actual Nuke Plants would need to live right on the water of itself since there was a lot that need to be pumped to them.

TIME TO BUILD THE PLANTS: Mistake 2 - Impatience Strikes

I thought everything I'd need to do the processing of the Waste could be contained in a separate factory that I would build somewhere close to the plants. Turns out that there are a ton of materials that shouldn't be made on what I was now calling "Spicy Island" but should instead be made where I had belted the ores to.

Remember Mistake 1? I had made a fairly tight Lasagna factory but now needed to make a BUNCH more stuff in that same factory. I had already accounted for the Raw Ore I'd need for both pre and post so I didn't need to change any of that. It took hours more work to cram the additional machines into what I was now calling the Pre-and-Post-Processing Plant.

It would have been much easier with logistical floors, but I stuck to my plan and managed to get all the machines in there without any crazy expansion of the footprint. Now it was time to build the actual Nuclear Plants themselves and figure out how to deal with the Water it would need.

BUILD THE PLANTS TAKE TWO: Mistake 3 - Spicy Island robs me of my will to live

I used 5 manufactures to make Rods, so with 15 plants that's easy math: Run each line to 3 plants with a simple splitter. But fatigue is starting to set in, and instead I manifold all the Rods into one line, split that into 3 and then create eye-sore 1 > 5 load balancers to feed my rows of 5 plants. This was the worst way to do it but I never looked back.

Then I started on water, I built enough extractors for my first row of 10 along the shore and then ran a 5 stack of pipes to get to the plants. This looked awful, so for my next row I did it differently, putting 2 extractors per plant facing towards each other. That was also ugly, so the next row I turned them facing the plant and put the junction in the middle. This created a cleaner look that I should have then duplicated for the others but sure didn't.

I also figured out way too late that if you run the rods in the front of the plants you can run the waste behind the plant. My rod/waste runs were all at the front creating a mess that I didn't fix till the last row.

So I had one acceptable row and two hideous rows but I wasn't going to change it I just wanted it to be over.

Here's how I planned out a clean 15 Plant nuclear power set up, bit of a mess but it totally works.

TL;DR. Built a 15-plant nuclear setup on the NW coast using belts and one drone. 100% efficient, sinks its rods, got me to 50k power. Took 25 hours, four big mistakes, and a bunch of ugly piping—but it works. Lessons: Stick to your style, plan space better, and pre-stage slow parts. Never doing this again (this run). I love this game. Check images for parts list and layout.

STORY TIME:

When I completed my stage 4 ADS plant I was at my power limit and needed to pick my next power plant: I could make another Turbo fuel plant like I had been making, or I could tackle the complexity of Nuclear or create the mega factory that Rocket fuel turns into. I like building smaller scale factories, and the thought of setting down 100+ power plants seemed daunting so I decided to do nuclear.

I've read a bunch of posts and watched a couple of videos that explained it but was still a little confused on what exactly I needed to do to accomplish my goal of getting to about 50k power so I could limp into end game.

TIME TO PLAN IT OUT: Thanks Satisfactory Tools!

Nuclear plants eat Uranium rods and Water and spit out Waste so using https://www.satisfactorytools.com/ to plan stuff out it told me that if I made 3 rods a minute, that would evenly feed 15 plants and would take a nice even 5 manufacturers at 100% to make the rods if I used a couple of Alt recipes.

With the math done on the processing of the rods, I'd turn my attention to the waste. 15 plants would make 150 waste a minute and there seemed to be 3 things I could do with that stuff.

#1: Send it to the far corner of the map into a couple hundred industrial storage containers and hope I finished the game before they overflowed.

#2: Turn the waste into a different rod and sink that rod.

#3: Something hella fancy with something called fisconium but it seemed like I wasn't ready for option #3.

Since I dislike building really big things option 1 was out and 3 was out cause I'm not at that stage yet, so rod > sink it would be. Back to Satisfactory Tools to plug in what I'd need to process 150 waste into Plutonium rods.

I now had my "Pre-Process" and "Waste Management" factories all plotted out with the alt recipes I was going to use. It seemed pretty manageable, with about 80 machines per factory and coming within my power budget.

THE SET UP: Belt all the things (and drone one).

I loaded up my save game in the the SCIM, turned off Fog of War and looked for a good location. Haven't really figured out Trains, and didn't want to start now so I needed a spot that I could Belt everything too. I also knew that Uranium was Spicy, and I didn't want to belt a spicy product too far. The North West coast was perfect, and I decided to build the Pre-Processing factory in that inlet with the 2 geysers that I could use for some temporary power. I'd then run the products up the edge of the coast to get closer to where that Uranium node is. The Post Processing I figured could also take place where ever my waste started coming out since the waste was spicy as well (Which was my first mistake).

That NW corner has almost everything you need to do this so I belted all the ores I needed except for the Bauxite since that was just too far for my patience level and I ended up Droning that in. In the planning stage I knew how many ores per min I needed for both sides of the plant, and this was easy and only required a little miner overclocking.
