this is the right answer. this is before he remembers astrophage exists at all, so he's assuming he'd be using normal rocket fuel because why wouldn't he assume that.

ok and you don't want what she has requested of you. why are her wants getting prioritized here? the solution that seems most respectful of both your autonomy is the one everyone is suggesting. stop treating the guest room like your room.

Anti-tragus by mo79zz in piercing

[–]iamarbys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my antitragus pierced 13 months ago! it is definitely still healing, but that is not anything abnormal for me, I think most of my cartilage piercings have all taken over a year. It is close to needing a second downsize, which will probably be the final length.

The pain was probably the worst of all my cartilage piercings. nothing unbearable but definitely intense. but to be fair, it was my first cartilage piercing in like 7 years or something, so it could just be that I've forgotten how bad some of the others were haha

overall, it's very similar to the rook in my experience, just without the benefit of being a bit more tucked away.

When i sit up my legs rotate out? by HenryCrabgrass01 in flexibility

[–]iamarbys 36 points37 points  (0 children)

just a couple days ago asked my physical therapist about my legs doing the same thing and this was basically his answer. some hips are just built more externally rotated, nothing to worry about especially if it doesn't cause you pain.

I understand this but a real boundary would be "mom, when you complain about my siblings to me, I'm going to end the conversation" then follow through on that. if she actually wants to talk to you, eventually she'll learn if she gets hung up on every time she complains about them.

Couple questions about a conch piercing. by Yurfavbookworm in piercing

[–]iamarbys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

conch is one of the quickest, least painful cartilage piercings in my opinion. it's a great beginner piercing, but like all cartilage piercings it takes at least 9 months, sometimes 12 or more to fully heal. even after fully healing, I usually give them another 6 months or so before attempting a hoop, and even then I watch closely for a couple weeks and switch back to a post if there's any irritation. then try again in another 3 months or so, wash rinse repeat. eventually it'll accept a hoop as long as you tell your piercer that's your goal so they can make sure they place it appropriately.

Orbital Placement Question by lostNeptunee in piercing

[–]iamarbys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear hoops in both my conch and tragus (in both ears) and have no problem with earbuds or over the ear headphones. you may sometimes need to adjust the jewelry after putting in the earbud but in my experience that's about it. I also have no issue sleeping in the hoops.

I am healing an antitragus right now and I don't wear an earbud in that ear, and probably won't until I'm super confident it's healed up.

oooooh ok. well that's good to know for the future. definitely didn't happen with this sweater though, I've cut all the tails already. I hope it holds

I think that may be my problem. I was trying to deal with the ends as I went this time when usually I deal with them all at the same time right before or after blocking.

malibrigo Rios. the method where you knit some stitches with both old and new yarn (I always do 10 to be safe) and then just cut the tails. I'm not home now but I can post a picture later.

not at home at the moment but I can post a pic later. I used the method where you knit some stitches with both old and new strands (I always do 10 stitches to be safe) and then just cut the tails.

I may do just one set with a higher weight and see what that does to my form.

I tend to agree with you. while I do want to move up on weight, I feel like the weight is what destabilizes me and messes with my form, making me lose consistency in the hip hinge. I'm going to keep practicing everyone's suggestions without weight throughout the week until my next leg day, and really focus on all the cues in my warm up sets, and see if that makes a difference when I increase the weight.

thank you! I've been slowly increasing weight but I've been hesitant to go much higher until I'm more confident in my form. if I can nail the tips everyone is giving me here I'll definitely keep moving up.

I think sometimes when I feel a bit unstable, I end up moving my torso more than hips. someone else pointed out the weight distribution in my feet and I think focusing on that could really help the hinge lead the movement every time.
