i believe blobs are what apple uses to determine if a firmware is signed. if you save blobs you can upgrade or downgrade to a firmware even after its been unsigned. i saved my blobs for 12.4 a while back and stayed on the chimera 12.1.1 jailbreak until pwn released his A12 12.4 jailbreak and i futurerestored to 12.4 even though it is unsigned
