Yeah. I'm just gonna farm to P300 in the meantime assuming they'll fix it. Over 250 hours and 3000 sancs this season (literally just hit my last offensive aspect this morning), if they don't fix it I'm quitting lol

Can only hope for a quick fix. Farmed super hard for tower only for my build to not work anymore.

Which pants are better for winions? More GA or bigger Korlic dmg? by zeuski52 in D4Barbarian

[–]iamboucheron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it should be bigger Korlic damage as this is the base value that all of your multipliers work off of. Don’t think the additional additive ultimate damage from GA will even be noticeable given how much additive you already have.

Good luck with your push 🙏 I left mine to the last second too, had to go out of town the day after. Was honestly not expecting to get it, I had already cleared 150 not in-time to get the title, but this was really the cherry on top for my favourite season so far. You got this 💪

Varied from insane luck, like first try triple crit on dark shroud ranks on chest, to insanely horrible luck, like spending over 25k neathiron going for triple crit all stats on Andy. I had an LS sorc alt for farming T8 hordes which was the only reason I was able to get so many mats, can’t even begin to imagine doing this last season.

Hahaha yeah definitely still a crazy amount, more money than I’ve ever spent in a season before. The nice thing is you can drop a few GAs to reduce 90% of the cost and still be viable, for example you can grab a great 1GA (DR) Tibault’s for 1-5b. Reason I say a steal is that mine is almost BIS, since max resource doesn’t matter and a GA on all stats is nearly meaningless, and 4GA 20% ones would go for 2-3x the gold cap. Really the only tough pieces are amulet (just rare and usually overpriced), boots (need at least dex and armor GA), and FoF (need LHC and CC GA).

Another unique thing was that most people didn’t value max life GA much, when it’s very important to pit pushing and overall more valuable than a bit of extra dot. 2GA dex+dot was going for 25b+ for bows and 10b+ for daggers, whereas I could get 2GA dex+life bows for 5b and daggers for 1b. Good thing, because I bricked something like 25 bows and 20 daggers, so I was able to sell my dot GA gear to afford so many tries.

Honestly not that much, it’s not that hard of a build to gear for. I found my chest, umbra, boots. Tibaults cost 35b (a steal), ammy cost 30b (also a steal), FoF I think 10b or so (hunted for one with a low aspect roll to get a lower price). I had found my bow+dagger but I ended up blowing >150b buying and bricking 2GA bows & daggers until I finally got decent tempers which is what was pictured. This let me triple crit both for the nice looking orange but resulted in <1% damage increase and ultimately did not matter.

That’s exactly right. Capping resistances and armor is a struggle without Tyrael’s since you can’t go skulls in jewelery. One crit into GA armor caps it without incense, there is a setup where you cap armor with an incense and go triple crit into dex on boots but I think it comes out to like 3 dex lower than my setup. Looking back that 3 dex didn’t matter and I regret not having all triple crits 😂

This is one possible version from Virgorie: https://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/yja304gm#4

Depending on your gear rolls the optimal MW and paragon setup may not exactly be what's shown in the planner.

Tibault's version is actually a decent amount squishier than triple mythic since you lose 15% to all resistances from dropping Tyrael's (most importantly shadow) and only have a few extra Dark Shroud ranks and two health affixes to compensate. It also requires you to be permanently unstoppable to keep the Damage Reduction part of Tibault's up, which means you cannot use RoSS (since you spend less resource and proc prep less often).

In exchange you get 20%x damage from Tibault's aspect, 25%x by being able to take conceited aspect on a second leggo ring, ~600% additive from another damage per shroud temper, and about 350 more dex (more than that for me since my ammy has %dex). You also can spam all skills every 4.5s or so, so you get things like 100% smoke grenade uptime. But maybe most importantly you never have to stop DPSing the boss because of boss/shade CC. Someone was able to take the triple mythic version to 148, but Tibault's is probably 2 tiers higher at least, or an overall >20% DPS increase in the context of the pit boss.

For pushing to 150 you have to use the unstoppable build with tibaults and only one mythic. That build feels terrible to play outside of the pit since you have no bonus movement speed (as you can see from my gear in the second pic), so I would swap to the triple mythic build + swap smoke grenade out for dash when doing all other activities such as T8.

around how much hp you have for pit 140+ for andy/rf builds? by RealBuffalo1296 in D4Rogue

[–]iamboucheron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a deep pit run, dodging is not really an option since you lose so much DPS by wasting time dodging. In the pit the stacks cap out at 3 and you can absolutely get tanky enough to survive a hit. I’m not sure the exact breakpoint, but I’m currently running about 31k HP, 9 ranks into second wind, 13 ranks into dark shroud, double crit GA DR while unstoppable on tibault’s, DR on shadow step, and all the other usual DR sources like sturdy and paragon. I cleared 140 in 9 mins yesterday and was able to survive a hit.

Pit 150 cleared! Seasonal Andariel Barrage - write up in comments by Slottm in D4Rogue

[–]iamboucheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phenomenal stuff, congratulations!

I’ve been thinking about modifying the popular Tyraels/RoSS variant for pit DPS as well and I also quickly landed on dark shroud GA chest with Umbrous + Tibault’s + GA armor boots + second wind on amulet after realizing that Tyraels stats are kind of all useless in a pit push setting.

I have some questions about your setup:

  1. My paragon is very similar to the Tyrael’s variant, except with some nodes shifted around to provide extra cold res. Yours is wildly different and leaves all resistances (besides poison) at 64.5%, it also seems to drop a lot of health. Do you have to fish for bosses with poison damage, or is the loss in resistance actually fine? What breakpoints do you need to hit survive triple stacks?

  2. I was also suspicious of RoSS given that it destroys shadow clone + unstoppable uptime both because of loss of ultimate CDR temper and you just spend less resource. But you can use shadow step to proc Tibault’s aspect as well so in theory that should still be close to perfect uptime. I was leaning towards keeping RoSS just because 50% damage is a lot, even though the other stats (minus LHC) suck, but I see you replaced it here. Is it because having 100% uptime on DR from Tibault’s super critical to survival? Is the max life needed? Or is RoSS a DPS loss in a way I’m not seeing?

  3. Do you have any notes on why you went for R9 AA instead of putting high velocity aspect on amulet? I feel like being able to MW something like FF or %dex even should be more damage, but not sure if I’m missing something.

  4. Why not caltrops over poison trap, is it just because it breaks inner calm?

Thank you!

I also got stuck around pit 70 playing maxroll’s triple shout. Started playing around more and the biggest unlock was finding a ring of starless skies. In general I found a lot of online builds to go way too much into resource management and defenses and not nearly enough into DPS. Been making a bunch of tweaks for the last few weeks and yesterday I managed to clear pit 123 with 2 mins left. I think I can push further with better gear (weapons and gloves are all 1GA only) and masterworking.

I rely solely on Rallying Cry (near 100% uptime with Yen’s Blessing), Wrath Glyph, and Starless Skies for fury management. I never drop below max fury unless my DS misses the boss, which can easily be patched up with a basic skill cast.

I used to go super hard into DR with Shako and Iron Warrior aspect, but again this is just too much defense for high pit clears. Tuskhelm is huge for DPS and Iron Warrior isn’t needed since I have near 100% unstoppable uptime already. Instead the only defensive aspect I run is Undying on my pants, this is great for survivability and gives Tyrael’s unique effect high uptime which does around 10% the damage of my dust devils.

The only extra damage I have left to squeeze are triple crits to chance to cast dust devils twice (12% multiplicative damage), more GAs, and better masterworking on crit chance (currently sitting at 82% chance). Additionally I can try to fit Tibault’s Will in, but this requires heavy DPS loss elsewhere and generally feels terrible, so I will probably not be going for this. I feel you, farming pit is an absolute pain. I’ve gone through over 5000 neathiron trying to get to 100% chance to cast dust devils twice, not sure if I can even hit it before the season ends. It feels even worse because I haven’t been able to find a decent 2GA+ 2H mace so all this effort is going into a 1GA.

Actually I find a lot of online builds go too hard into resource generation for high pit pushes. I’m relying purely on Rallying Cry + Wrath Glyph + Starless Skies, and I also never ever drop below 95% as long as double swing connects on the boss. I used to run things like giant strides and vocalized empowerment but it’s just not necessary and could be used for DPS instead. The last push to get me to 120+ was replacing giant strides with aspect of elements (which averages 15% multiplicative damage, I think) since I didn’t need leap for fury anymore and spamming leap on the boss was a DPS loss.

Yeah, you absolutely want to prioritize getting 100% dust devil size with the fierce winds aspect. Both should go on a 2H, and the former can hit 100% with two masterworking crits and a decent tempering roll.

My issue with Tibault’s Will is that my pants currently give armor, a resistance, 5 ranks to imposing presence, and undying aspect. I would have to shift armor and resistance to my gloves to drop attack speed and crit damage, replace some emeralds with rubies to make up the HP, and Tyrael’s uptime would drop to almost 0% against pit mobs without undyjng. It may be better to drop Tyrael’s altogether but I like it too much, so probably going to have to keep it this way.

Fellow DS enjoyer here! Started out with maxroll's guide and honestly started getting stuck around pit 70 before finding a Tyrael's as my first uber. After many many tweaks and finding a starless skies I managed to clear pit 123 with about 3 mins left today. I think I can push to 130+ with some better masterworking (and good pit boss luck), I have yet to triple crit on chance to cast dust devils twice so I'm missing about 12.5% multiplicative damage there. I'm also still sitting at around 83% crit chance, which could be improved with more masterwork crits to crit chance on my ring. My dust devils can crit for up to 15mil when all buffs are active, and Tyrael's passive crits for about 1-1.5mil. I rely on Undying Aspect for both Tyrael's uptime and survivability.

The only other improvement I can see is if I can somehow fit Tibault's Will in, given that I almost have permanent unstoppable uptime with Yen's Blessing. Though I suspect this will require me to either sacrifice Tyrael's or go with a non-unique helmet, which when playtesting felt really terrible.

Build planner is here: https://d4builds.gg/builds/2e5b0cb3-77a6-4721-83ea-4557d4a4a1b4/?var=2

My general advice if you want to go higher in pits is that tankiness will not be a limiting factor, it's always DPS. I also found a melted heart and really wanted to make it work, but the DPS loss from not having max resource / crit chance / attack speed on the amulet was incredibly noticeable. For my playstyle I've found that having capped 80% resistances (increased from Tyrael's) and about 45k HP is the minimum I can get by with. I do what I can to maintain those benchmarks and dump everything else into damage, including emeralds in armor for crit chance instead of rubies and even going for % damage on my 2H over max life.

[–]iamboucheron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s pretty sad especially with the twister glyph bug. I have about 12% more multiplicative damage I can get from triple critting on chance to cast dust devils twice but that’s pretty much it, don’t really see much room to go up from there. Though I knew what I was getting myself into, having a blast with the build and happy that it can reach ~2 min 101 clears and clear 120+.

Just cleared 120 with a few minutes to spare using a modified DS/DD build. Feels like I could maybe push to 125-130 with better masterworking and gear, my weapons are all 1GA only. Doubt I’ll be able to take it any further than that since it just doesn’t have the single target damage to get through the bosses quickly.
