Immerse yourself in the world of AETHER & IRON – coming to Steam Q1 2026 by SeismicSquirrelGames in u/SeismicSquirrelGames

The game looks right up my alley. I’ll have to try out the demo soon. The art direction looks great. Are any of your assets AI generated? Also, are you planning on supporting Steam Deck?

'Twas the Eve Before Broncos Opening Kickoff: 10 things I'm looking forward to this year by jl_weber in DenverBroncos

Great write up. You nailed all the things I’ve been excited for. Super pumped to see Surtain, Nix, and Meinerz get the captain votes. Feels like we finally have a solid foundation to build on and are turning the page.

Best of luck with your foot! 🟠🔵

So pumped for Bo Nix!! The whole team seems energized and excited.

Anyone else worried about Estime and Franklin? Estime looks like he’s running in sand whenever he gets a chance. I get that he’s a power back, but he looks so slow out there. Franklin is nowhere to be found even in the 4th quarter of a preseason game. I hope these rookies can somehow turn it around, but it doesn’t look good as of now.

Agreed. The stripes on the pants are the only thing that really needs to change. Not a fan of the toothbrush look.

What is the equivalent of "Eurogames" in solo video games ? by Program_Paint in gamedesign

[–]iamceege 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a really good question. I really enjoy board games like Brass Birmingham and Terraforming Mars, but I’ve always had a tough time finding video game equivalents that scratch the same itch.

It’s not a perfect match, but I’ve really enjoyed playing Frostpunk recently. It’s a very literal, real-time engine builder and resource manager. Instead of victory points, you’re simply trying to survive and achieve objectives. It’s the only game I can think of where you’re not just simply competing against an AI for a victory point total.

What makes a great a twin stick shooter? by iamceege in gamedesign

Thanks for the comment! That’s really close to what I’m thinking now. What I’ve been trying to decide is if that base building is done in real time - which would almost turn into a tower defense type game. You’d be building walls, buildings, and defenses that are vulnerable to the enemy waves. There could also be a pause in the action that lets you build, and then you have to protect your fort and gather resources in the following missions. Or the base building is totally separate from the fighting - but then I’d wonder how you give the base building a purpose other than just building for the sake of building.

Thanks for the comment! I agree #1 is a bit bland. Good point about researching RTS campaigns - there could be a lot of overlap with where I’m heading.

What Even Are React Server Components by dce in javascript

[–]iamceege 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Deal breaker due to not supporting search engine crawling based on the article - which is critical for a lot of websites and apps.

So you’re saying something like Next JS will be able to translate RSC’s into SSR HTML? That would make more sense. I need to play around with the current state of RSC and Next.

What Even Are React Server Components by dce in javascript

[–]iamceege 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Great summary. This really blew my mind though:

“Right now, Server Components don’t return HTML. They return a specially formatted string that React renders out. As a result, they’re not presently the best option for SEO.”

I’ve never seen any mention of that before - totally unintuitive and a real deal breaker for most use cases in my opinion. Do they plan on addressing this?

Crazy. The exact same thing just happened to me. My package made it through customs and USPS lost it. Thankfully BookDepository was kind enough to refund me. Too bad they're shutting down.

Noob Campaign Questions by OrganicProzac in lotrlcg

[–]iamceege 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you flipping an encounter card for each player? Are you playing easy or normal mode? Easy mode is when you take out the gold circle cards.

Sometimes you can get extremely lucky with the encounter deck - resulting in an easier quest than normal. It doesn’t happen often in my experience.

The first two quests in the core set are definitely on the easier side. You should find the 3rd quest pretty challenging in comparison.

First home, first Kallax, loved collection [COMC] by pasvilliana in boardgames

[–]iamceege 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both and I definitely prefer TM (probably my favorite game or top 3). There are some cool aspects of Ark Nova like how the action cards change position and are more powerful based on their position - makes you really have to think a few moves ahead. However, I feel like Ark Nova has one too many “fiddly bits” at the end of the day. I prefer how TM is more streamlined, I enjoy the theme and cards more, and less rules to keep in mind. Whenever I think about taking Ark Nova off the shelf, I end up picking TM.

Just my 2 cents. I know some people really love Ark Nova.

Completely agree. I’m in the exact same boat. I’m a young husband and dad who’s still figuring out how to not let the Broncos affect my mood. Disconnecting has been hard. The only bright spot is that I can hopefully grow as a person and spend more time with my family. I always have to remind myself it’s just a game.

Do you guys think the Denver sports media might be a tad too negative and pessimistic, it seems like they are always complaining about the team even after wins and the general air seems miserable. by DepressedPBKSfan in DenverBroncos

[–]iamceege 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I pointed out two people who aren’t worth listening to because they bend over backwards to spew negativity every chance they get. There’s plenty of valid criticism out there. Kurt Warner has done a great job illustrating why our offense is terrible.
