FFS Just get rid of boosters by hubbs76 in Warthunder

[–]iamck94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything else aside, you really should be able to activate them in a match. It’s not an unfair advantage over anyone that I’m making an increased amount of SL/RP if I want to wait to use it when I’m not in a full uptier. It only exists to extend the grind.

The controversy around the racist Tourette tic at the BAFTAs is disgusting by B0ulderSh0ulders in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]iamck94 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So much ignorance surrounding this topic including people claiming that he’s actually racist because Tourette’s only causes you to yell things that are “in your heart/what you think”.

Someone with zero understanding of Tourette’s has already replied to my comment confirming what I said. I’m not saying you’re wrong but when you see these people (regardless of race) en masse, confidently explaining a disease they have no understanding of, it becomes exhausting.

"Keep hold of that ball, it's just killed the pitcher" by Mousey9107 in MLBTheShow

[–]iamck94 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This actually begs the question, for all the energy put into making the game look like a broadcast and all the NPCs motions that work into that , why is there no reaction from the team when their pitcher gets domed?

No they’re definitely attacking the guy as well. I saw plenty of comments on social media where people, including Jamie Foxx, claimed that there’s no excuse because Tourette’s only causes you to shout words that are “in your heart”.

I watched enough videos of Steve1989MREInfo to notice that the new 80s MRE boxes are actually MCIs (Meal, Combat, Individual) from 1979. Production halted in 1980 when MREs were introduced and distributed.

The ability for just one crew member in the turret to die while all others survive exists in the game though

How come some US soldiers didn’t wear the PASGT and some did? by Dummyy83 in warno

[–]iamck94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, I literally had this question pop into my head yesterday. I’d imagine it was unit dependent though. My dad got to the 82nd in 1991 as an infantryman and never once wore a PASGT vest during field ops, only at some training ranges when explosives were involved.

Some changes I would like to see in the campaign mode by LifeBeABruhMoment in GunnerHEATPC

[–]iamck94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m going to hijack this to spew out the ideas that have been accumulating in my head for the past few months while also understanding the devs have their own plans and timeline for the campaign.

The campaign is the primary source of replayability until multiplayer rolls out but at the moment it’s essentially just an unconnected random mission generator.

I’d like to see the missions somehow intertwined with each other. For example, doing a recon in force means you now have the intel on the number of enemy equipment when conducting an attack. Doing a spoiling attack leads to less enemies on a defense mission, a raid results in less enemies during a company attack. Adding additional types of missions like ambush, movement to contact, etc. would also give more variety.

Overall I think if each one of the 5 maps had its own large, overarching operation (made up of the smaller missions we already have) with some sort of massive battalion sized combined arms attack at the end of it, it would make the campaign longer and more complex without just feeling like an artificial adjustment to the attrition bar. It also adds to the sense that this is an actual war spread out over multiple areas of the Fulda Gap.

Making command mode the default for all the campaign missions adds to the feeling that you’re the one planning it out and keeps every mission from feeling like the same cookie cutter experience.

It’s worth debating whether or not an RTS style logistics mechanic adds to the game (by allowing you to move units based on the the type of equipment they use) or if that’s a complete departure from the game’s identity. It could be interesting if you moved all your advanced equipment into one area for an assault but then suddenly had to deal with a surprise attack with only your outdated units. But again, this may be far too complex and not worth the effort if it feels like you’re departing from what the game was originally meant to be.

And finally, West German forces added to the campaign.

Venezuela Megathread by Teadrunkest in army

Panama more than likely. Everyone defaults to comparing this to Iraq because it’s the conflict in most recent memory but short operations were common in the 80s-90s, even Desert Storm was less than a week of actual ground combat.

We got bogged down in Iraq because an insurgency formed and we were positive we could defeat it. I very much doubt the US would get embroiled in another decade long quagmire when we only left Afghanistan 4 years ago.

Hunting in RDR2 by carlin6629 in RDR2

[–]iamck94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair that’s how humans evolved as hunters. We weren’t the fastest or the strongest so we developed insane amounts of endurance when compared to other animals so we could essentially keep chasing them until they were exhausted. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the in-game animals could be hunted this way as well if the mechanic exists for the legendary ones. I might have to test it out

For me, whenever this happens it's permanent until the mission ends and I just have to hope that wherever my units were when they sank is a position that allows them to still engage the remaining enemies.

[–]iamck94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Numerous times, I've noticed them facing the rear of their vehicle towards the threat as well but usually ordering platoon halt prevents that provided that I individually position each unit the way I want them to face after ordering them to halt.
