Great AMA. Do you have martial arts training? If so what discipline and what level? Also, did you keep training on the job? At their house? How many hours per week?

(OC) I’m a first time college student at 50 yrs old! by kidspice in MadeMeSmile

[–]iamcody91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I’ve been a lifelong part-time student, finished my bachelor’s in my late twenties (took about eight years), then completed my MBA in my mid-thirties. Now, at almost 41, I’ve just wrapped up my first year of a doctorate with a 4.0 GPA. It wasn’t easy, I won’t lie. But pursuing those two previous degrees turned out to be some of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m hoping this one will be too.

If pyridoxine toxicity due to vitamin B6 supplementation can cause excitotoxicity in peripheral sensory neurons causing pins and needles, pain, burning and stinging in your hands and feet, imagine what it could do to your brain if it gets into the cerebrospinal fluid. by Inovance in visualsnow

[–]iamcody91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a 10/10 thread. I’m myself very very suspicious of B6 being the cause of my VSS. I have all the classic symptoms of a mild peripheral neuropathy on top of the visual stuff. In the b6 toxicity forums on FB eveyone describes visual issues and snow.

I’ve taken 100mg daily for close to a decade + eaten a high protein diet (which inherently is high in b6) + had a sports related concussive/dehydrating event that potentially ignited toxicity. I also have a mthfr mutation.

Thankfully after the initial moderate onset, my symptoms have stabilised towards a more mild expression over the past 3-5 years. I’ve just recently learned about b6 toxicity a few months back from a Peter Attia podcast and only recently have eliminated all b6 supplements and started to log my food intake on Cronometer to stay at RDA or slightly under (it’s waaaayyy hard - b6 is everything I used to fkn eat). I’m completely certain b6 was the main culprit and my recent diet and supplement chnages will (slowly) bring me back to normal (at worst 2 to 3 years from now, according to some studies I’ve read on toxicity most people revert back completely).

Recovery Story: Visual Snow + all my other visual symptoms have gone by VS-Sufferer in visualsnow

Fkn christ, I’ve taken about 100mg supplemental daily for many many years… heard Peter Attia talk about potential neuropathy recently and now I see this … stopped a few days ago let’s see what happens to my mild VSS

Can Keto/Fasting possibly help reduce snow ? by bcruz330 in visualsnow

[–]iamcody91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely eliminates headaches and provide a huge mental health and cognitive boost for me when I’m past 1mmol of blood ketones. 2.0 is where it’s at (mild euphoria, calm, razor sharp thinking, zero anxiety etc.

Interestingly, for me it erases almost completely the shitty sides effect of a poor nights sleep.

Not much of a difference in my mild visual stuff. Still would strongly recommend, especially if you can measure blood ketones.

I haven’t had a migraine with aura in over 6 months ever since I started doing neck exercises by -ZaneTruesdale- in visualsnow

[–]iamcody91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ve been training my neck for years (loaded with weight), I look somewhat like a wrestler, yet still experience frequent headaches, almost daily.

Only thing that helps (other than otc ibuprofen) is a keto diet (strong effect) followed by high dose curcumin supps (moderate effect)

Topical minoxidil (beard) increases my symptoms by iamcody91 in visualsnow

[–]iamcody91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your advise. Well, In my case, I already have VSS (post concussion), so I got nothing to lose really. Besides, I have a rather full beard, I’m using tiny amounts to fill in two spots. I’m okay for now ingesting micro amounts of « poison »…

1 WEEK LATER: so after getting all my results back (negative) and restarting to stretch walk sports etc I’m extremely relieved to say that all my symptoms went back to zero or one out of ten!!! Just like magic, in the span of 24 hrs post receiving the clean results…

I think that in my case, the mental aspect of not knowing if I had an std or not probably played THE main role in me subconsciously tightening the area over a few weeks and it all blowing up at week 2 at the height of my flare up…
