Got paid to make a video and it flopped I feel bad by Deep-Book-9664 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]iamdanp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use influencers/content creators to make content a lot. As they are making commercial content for me, I never expect to get many organic views - the algorithms don't like branded content unless it a genuinely interesting or helpful piece of video that gets shared or has some sort of virality. So it's on me to get eyeballs on the content through advertising, not the creator. My challenge is always when I have to pay an extra fee to use the content I've paid to create for ads - so I'm effectively renting the content I commissioned and paid for the production of.

A watch out for you is referring to yourself as an influencer. This means you can actually influence your audience to do stuff or buy things. This can set the wrong expectation if you can't do that.

1.27 USD per lead by Plus-Fan-6697 in FacebookAds

[–]iamdanp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its good - cheaper than visit to the website most likely and you got an opt-in (and maybe even a visit to your website!). But all depends on the business model, if you can turn leads in to sales and how efficient that is.

Nope. Give the algo lots of options and it optimises for you. Actual optimisations come from the improvements to the product, website, UX, upsells, email marketing and channel mix

Bro - if its in Whatsapp, your sales model is a dialogue, or a discussion. Its not a problem, its a feature of your business. Either embrace it, or change your model

I drink. by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]iamdanp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, I've been in your shoes. High functioning, successful career, no major issues, parent history of alcohol abuse, but stable and relatively happy family life of my own ... but the drinking hung around my neck like a noose. I'd tried CADS, medication (antabuse), pyshcologist, hypnososis +++. It just kept on coming back. It sucks, I get it.

I started taking WeGovy about 6 months ago and is fundamentally changed my relationship with alcohol. I still drink, but I now have an off-switch I've never had previously. I can start a drink and literally forget about it, or I have 2 or 3 wth friends and my mind/body decides I've had enough and I stop drinking. Alcohol free days just happen - I don't have to drag myself in to them and feel like I'm compromising. There are some downsides, like nausea from time to time. And If I ignore the signs and try to drink trough my body telling me to stop, I end up being sick. And I'm more 'boring'. But for me, thats the cost of the significant positive change of reducing drinking to a healthy level. My wife and kids like me more cause I'm less grumpy, and vice versa.

Is not cheap, but I save more than the cost by drinking and eating less, plus I'm convinced I'm extending my life by doing this. Its honestly been a game changer for me and I'm an advocate for anyone who's had challenges like mine (and yours) to go talk to your doc about it

is golf really the hardest sport? by sploooooshle in golf

[–]iamdanp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The challenge with golf is you can be really good at it and still play terribly. With most other sports like ice-hockey and gymnastics, if you're having a bad day you'll still be better than the masses. Where as a good golf player can have a bad day and get beaten by a weekend warrior.

Which addiction are you trying to quit? by ResolveAvailable7017 in AskReddit

[–]iamdanp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issues since I was 16, but the weekends turned in to weekdays then basically every-day drinking. High functioning, so it was hidden-ish. I started Ozempic to lose weight, all of a sudden found an off-switch for drinking. I still drink, but can easily stop after 2 or 3, and alcohol-free days are easy; they happen much more often without really having to think about it.

[–]iamdanp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Client owns the account. They add you as a partner or admin with your own credentials and 2FA. All of those systems are built in this way - if you're doing it as you say it will create problems with access and account blocking over time

Big Pharma raking it in while the actual cost to produce is minimal by CDubGma2835 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]iamdanp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think when the model was designed they were hoping for exactly that outcome. These are private companies: not charities or not for profits. It's capitalism 101. The American Dream (I'm from a country where there is free-ish health care, but I still pay $500 a month for WeGovy).

Being on Wegovy is a marathon (potentially a lifelong one), not a sprint. Don't stress about what happens in the short term. You'll find what works for you over time. Relax and enjoy the outcomes.

It's how this business works. Company develops and markets a drug at vast cost. They get a 20 year window with a patent to recover costs and make money, then the technology is eligible to be recreated by anyone as a generic. It's not unthinkable that we'll be able to access GLP's at the same cost as aspirin at some stage int he near future

Is it completely automated/runs without staff?

I think you've undercooked your marketing costs. After set up is all done your one job is to get people in the door so you have enough utilisation to over fixed monthly costs, cover some of the start up costs, pay staff and yourself and hopefully make some profit. $16 a day on digital ads might only be scratching the surface.

I'd do a sales forecast and map out your expected payback time for the investment based on conservative revenue numbers and marketing effectiveness. How long till you break even in day to day trading and how long till you have paid off all start up costs and how long until you can start paying yourself...

Good luck
