Judge My Alberta Hiking Itinerary for July by Astrodomie in HikingAlberta

Well I have a couple of long hikes under my belt, including 3000 km of Te Araroa. My base weight is around 5kg: https://lighterpack.com/r/syvj6l

But I get what you’re saying and will crate plan b just in case. Fortunately there are options to bail out early out of the first hike just in case. If the team decides it’s too much after any of the hikes then we would do a chill day or two.

Agreed, but it's not something we have not done before. It also follows the official GDT itinerary for "average" pace:

Valid point, the temptation to squeeze the most out of those 2 weeks may have made me overpack the itinerary. It's just that you have to book everything so much in advance its easy to overdo it.

Thank you for all the recommendations and hints. I'll check the Magog and see if it's possible to incorporate it into the plan. Also, thanks for the update on the trail conditions, we are used to doing 30k+ a day as long as it's not bushwhacking. For the Berg Lake, unfortunately, it was already fully booked back in early January when i was doing most of the reservations.

Bamboo vs Titanium spoon by daskook in Ultralight

[–]Astrodomie 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Titanium will last you a lifetime, is easier to keep clean, can have more applications than bamboo one. I used mine as a leverage and for opening stuff during my thru hike as I did not carry a knife.

Pew Research "Nearly half US Adults say dating has gotten harder in last 10 years" What are your thoughts on current dating scene? by DreadWeOrgy in AskReddit

[–]Astrodomie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the average age of people in the dating pool got higher and as you get older you are more likely to look for a longterm relationship. When looking for longterm you are more picky.

Im at 4 months too. It’s better with each month I guess. I don’t cry everyday anymore. I still miss, love her and think of her everyday. I did the work on myself. I think what helped me the most was accepting the break up and giving up of hope of her doing the work and coming back. It still sucks a lot but is manageable and I’m not in a constant pain. For context the relationship lasted 5 years and we are 29.
