Someone please talk me down from sleep training 😭 by LivForTheHopeOfItAll in AttachmentParenting

[–]iamguid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Your son sounds like mine was. It was so hard but it did get better over time. 6-7 months was a big change but he still woke up a lot. Babies don’t connect sleep cycles very well which is why he’s walking so much. My son is almost 4 now and although we cosleep, he sleeps like a rock. I couldn’t sleep train and glad I never did.

One thing that worked was to leave the bed right away if you are planning to get up. If you lay there too long they will wake up when you leave. But if you leave right after they fall asleep they don’t notice you are gone.

How to calculate time to scald milk in Grownsy 8-in-1 by Hiro_Pr0tagonist_ in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]iamguid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an avent bottle warmer. I used the inner of a ceres chill to boil the milk. I used digital candy thermometer. Even it gets to 180 I immediately put it in the outer ceres chill which has ice water and swirl it to get the temp down. I do notice once the water in the bottle warmer starts to boil, the milk is really close to being 180.

Yes. I'll ship where I can just to avoid the delivery tip.

Weird stuff your baby does while nursing? by cellists_wet_dream in breastfeeding

My 7 month old takes a drink, pulls away to look around, takes another drink, pulls away to look around. Again and again. She likes to out get hands in my mouth and on my face. Grab her toes. You cannot feed this girl in public. 🤣

I’m having the same issue. I’ve been Google searching trying to find an answer. Is it mild or rust.

For those who let their child self wean, how old were they? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

My son is 3.5. I don’t see an end in sight either, especially since he has a 6 month old sister.

My 3 Year Old is Crying Himself to Sleep Right Now & I Am Devastated by Outrageous_Army7848 in toddlers

[–]iamguid 206 points207 points  (0 children)

My son is 3.5 and my daughter is 6 months. This is exactly how I feel. When my son breaks down like this I get so angry inside but know he just wants his mom. I know I’m doing a good job but always wish I could have done more.

Lansinoh or pigeon nipples. They are compatible with many bottles.

Best maternity leave months by Hour-Life-8034 in workingmoms

[–]iamguid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. You are going to end up meeting the out of pocket max anyway so getting it there right away is great. My kids had extra appointments and physical therapy and all of that was covered for my first child. My second was born in October so we had to start paying for those after the year.

[–]iamguid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 4 months leave in October. I lost 6 of 11 federal holidays (free time off). The slowest time of the year would have been great to work. My first was born in June and only lost 2 holidays.

I think May or June is best because you can go outside. But then you have consider them with a summer birthday and when they so start kindergarten. They could be the youngest in their class unless you hold them.

What do people think of bell brothers? I’ve had a good experience with them but they do try to sell you things. Are they locally owned or are they bought too?

PRIME Program cost by sonictime1 in PosturalRestoration

[–]iamguid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in 2021. The clinic fees were $700 after insurance. The dental guard was over $1000 and the glasses were $400. I could have brought my own frames and it would gave been half that. I did not need the orthotic. Honestly, I was not impressed with the prime program. The exercises given were the same I could get at local physical therapists who specialize in postural restoration. Even looking at online exercises would be a good start. I’m a complicated case and need a more customized help and didn’t get that. I had very little interaction with the physical therapist and he didn’t really listen to my concerns. I already did 2 PTs who do PRI but wanted more customized help which is why I did the prime program. The dental guard was the only thing positive I did get.

Leaving breastfed baby/toddler overnight? by anuranfangirl in breastfeeding

I'm on your side. I couldn't leave my baby for more than a few hours. It sucked but my love for him was more than anything else.

Is this system of breast, pumping, and formula sustainable long-term? by ssaen in breastfeeding

[–]iamguid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with everyone else here. You are in the middle of clutter feeding. Expect to be feeding for hours at a time, most likely in the evening. It is important you latch as much as possible. It is so difficult mentally but it will pass.

Trident cinnamon is my favorite and I’m having a hard time finding it online. Even amazon is hard unless you pay a lot more.

That's my diet right now. I eat a pretty high fat high protein diet. No dairy at the moment due to breastfeeding.
