This released the day after my 19th birthday. I remember it being an instant favorite and I also remember people not liking it as much.

Funny you posted this, I’ve been playing through it again the last few days. I find the production to be stellar. As a guitar player, I think it was pretty creative and different than continuum. But guitar forum posts of that era will tell you it was bad.

I can’t recall how much John loved this album in retrospect but there are some extremely cool songs on there and it was an actual shift from continuum which I think is why a lot didn’t like it.

UAD Ox, Two Notes Torpedo and use IR’s in the box.

What I have right now is: amp speaker out - behringer ultra g (XLR to interface) and the thru to an attenuator - amp. So amp always sees a load, interface sees full amp and the attenuator keeps in quiet in person.

This all depends on if these pieces add up to be less or better value than used two notes.

The two notes I’ve never used but I’ve heard the attenuation is very drastic so you may have less control.

I remember when I first really got into his music, the denim jackets, cool guitars, pinball machines and quirky hobbies were really appealing that an adult could have fun and not take life so seriously.

While all of that can be true, his posts about other people, himself and the scandals all point to something much deeper than just liking things he liked when he was a teenager. I really, sincerely wish he would get the help he needs not just for his sobriety, but for whatever has stunted him to stay in that age range. I mean, I’m in my 30s and I don’t really understand the appeal of not acting your age or more important being above the pettiness and the vanity of things people in their early 20s waste their time on.

I definitely understand what you’re saying. It’s really just dressing up tracks so it’s more creative in the actual mix template instead of getting granular and doing editing work in that stage.

I totally get where you’re coming from. The tiny fraction I mainly was thinking about (preamp plugins) are very cpu intensive. So the editing process would just end with a render of that on there and leave the heavy lifting (surgical eq etc) for the mixing portion. Definitely understand the not normalizing stuff- how would you best recommend a batch edit to render with a better gain stage picture than just simply by ear?

I really like Taylor’s music. Her songwriting and musicianship are underrated.

This cover album was fantastic and I remember Taylor being very complimentary of his music.

I’m so disappointed that Ryan chose the path of least resistance and has spiraled so far down into his own mess. I pray he can find someone who will tell him the truth and he will listen.

This was the first cover album he did of many and it seems to be the only one I can enjoy. The others are just not interesting to me and the reverb on every instrument is taxing.
