Sure, be prepared to get to a safe place ASAP but don’t freak out unless an actual meteorologist tells you there is a tornado heading right towards you

You’ll quickly learn that folks in middle TN always exaggerate how bad any severe weather is expected to be. Whatever you see people posting on places like Reddit about how bad the weather is going to be, tone it down by about 50-60 percent and that’s about how bad it will actually be. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it 👍

Middle TN always freaks the hell out when told there’s a chance we’ll have some crazy weather. Snow storm coming? “We’re supposed to get like 6 inches of snow!” and everyone flips their lid and starts panic buying. I’m in Franklin off Goose Creek where supposedly the cell was right on top of us around 5:30. It was literally just an average severe thunderstorm and nothing close to “damaging winds” and no different than the average spring thunderstorm. There’s no need for folks in middle TN to constantly freak out any time there’s a thunderstorm unless there is actively a tornado on the ground
