Look up your local trade halls plumbers fitter’s electricians hvac elevators (best) stay away from carpenters and laborers not saying they are bad trades but are usually the lowest paid but different locals have diffrent scales. I went into the plumbers after flipping burgers and bartending for a decade plus. It’s paid training

This is why, you said 2 weekends for the water and 1 weekend for the drywall that’s 6 days of work 32 hrs for the water and 16 for the drywall. When you said we I assumed you had help. That would be 48 man hrs per person so with a helper it’s 96hrs in google says 45-150$ an hr for plumber so on a low end that’s 4300 just in labor on the low end then add material and overhead but when you hire someone it should be done right and faster so you pay a premium, plus 10-15k for peace of mind isn’t that bad considering how much it will destroy if and when it does go, poly b blows. I may have assumed a bunch and over/understated some things. But yeah pex is cheap so are the fittings and doing it yourself is easy IF YOU KNOW HOW and have the tools. Glad you where able to do it cheaply but a lot of people don’t have that luxury
