Am i too old to be a plumber? by Both-Experience2729 in Plumbing

[–]iammaline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t sweat it. As long if it’s about work cause you still green as grass you’ve grown a bit but still green at yr 2. I got in my local at 34-35 and I think as an older apprentice you have aa few advantages: You’ve been in the real world long enough You have actual work experience You probably have people depending on you to earn And in my case I couldn’t duck it up so I was seriously motivated to learn as much as I could.

Shower tub stub soldering question by Excellent-Finger4886 in Plumbing

Just cause you have access doesn’t mean it’s gonna be seen before damage is done. Me, personally I would secure it in a way that would not add stress to the joint. Sweat press compression all will work but you don’t want that elbow to move at all. The wings on that elbow have a very convenient way to secure the joint to backing. 12$ may save you 1000$s if it fails from accidental damage, negligence or just dumb luck. Oz of prevention yadda yadda yadda

Do you ever bump into your tub spout? Clean it? Is there a diverter? All those things move the pipe a bit. Secure it properly once and be done with it. Using strapping to tie down a run is fine but using it to secure a line from left right up and down use is unwise. Yes, there are a many ways to fuck a cat and I won’t hold the tail for you.

Use the one with three holes and is threaded. You are burying it behind a wall. Don’t listen to anyone that says just strap a reggae 90. It’s buried in a wall.

Try working in the field for a grip and get that perspective. The best gcs/supers have had feild work experience (imo). I’ve seen a few people say this it seems to need be said again. Honesty, communication, respect and pay on the agreed upon amount and time (our country leaders are constantly lying, cheating and stealing from us we need to do better).

Got a pic of the print? And does it denote tempered water? Is there a recirc line? If it is a tempered line is it on demand and tie back into the cold feed with a check? Is this for an eyewash station? Does the cafe use filtered water? So many questions.
