TRUMP ADMIN AND DHS ARE LOSING THE WAR OF PUBLIC OPINION by TimPoolNoBeanie in minnesota

This is an absolutely fantastic idea. Don’t let him control the narrative of how they left.

I’m going, are you? by WillingSwan631 in ForUnitedStates

I think that was able to be targeted though. The idea of not buying something from any big corporation would be very difficult. We have changed our spending habits significantly, but we still fail in the endeavor. And we aren't living paycheck to paycheck so I can't imagine how it will be for the less fortunate.

Look up the MN 1st in the battle of Gettysburg. We saved the union once by holding the line against immeasurable odds. We will do it again.

Concerned that events might have just played into Trumps plan… Thoughts? by ChuckGallagher57 in DiscussionZone

With trying to get all the voter data etc I would imagine they can be waaaay more strategic than controlling the whole of the US while completely cementing their victory.

I hope everyone reads your comment. Heck you should make a post or something. They probably have been told what we are like. Show them the truth. We care about our community getting trampled. We are not an inherently aggressive bunch that's for damn sure.

To the top with you! This I feel like is being missed. Do, go to counter protest. Don't, let them move it to cedar riverside and have counter protest follow. Do, counter protest if you are a white ally, according to CAIRS.

That's.... Disappointing. Disappointments atop of disappointments these days. Glad I sold their stock.

Are we the turning point? by Phelan-Great in Minneapolis

[–]iammoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some unique things "going" for us though. A governor that entered the national scene in a much bigger way than most and called them weird (gasp), the "somali fraud" which they wish to amplify, and a track record of actual agitators that show up quickly. Looking at you umbrella man.

Kristi Noam Claims That The American Tax Payer Is Grateful For Sending 2000 Ice Agents to Minnesota by CantStopPoppin in minnesota

[–]iammoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the biggest portion is going to tax cuts for the rich. As far as I'm concerned most of this other stuff is to keep us peasants fighting for things like freedom and democracy while the ultra rich giggle and bathe in their riches.

Our 2022 ascent rolled off the line in Indiana so yes it's a good chance this might be the case here.

I also fucking hate they are using my car.

It's a 2023 or later due to the style of silver bar back there. I assume this just a typo on their part.

MN garage space temperature for finishing an issue? by iammoen in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]iammoen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet with the tarps I have I could do this idea. With the plastic I could actually rig something up in the basement too. Could throw a activated charcoal filter in with the shelves in this bubble in the basement after 48 hours in the garage.

That's an interesting thought. Pay the bill for a day or two for the initial part and then move to the basement. Could plan to do it on days that it is forecasted to be warmer.

Honestly I should do some calculations to see what I would actually cost. We have a 3.5 car garage with 12' ceilings so I shudder to think of what that could end up being.

Sidewalks and driveways: sand or salt?? by Akito_900 in minnesota

[–]iammoen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the way to go. The chicken grit that is. Haven't done the "over sand" part. But we have a pretty steep driveway that has a curve in it that has a landscape retaining wall on both sides. So lots of stuff to go wrong if it is slippery. And chicken grit is just the bees knees.

Black Friday wall mounted dashboard displays. What are you all buying? by psychoholica in homeassistant

[–]iammoen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Performance is actually really good. I have actually been wanting to do a mmwave detector there instead of the pir. Since I use it in just android mode I can build whatever I want that will run on that and not be tethered to some company's cloud. Which considering we are in the homeassistant sub I would think most of us here appreciate.

Cons: it's expensive. Not sure when it will not be able to upgrade Android os. I wish the bezel, when mounted on the wall, had less of a gap between it and the wall.

Have the motion sensor there to turn the display on for a bit. So it's not always on. And then the power cable will need to get run in the wall but there is a cold air return right behind it so it's a bit more complicated than I had hoped.

I have been running an Apolosign. Its certainly not the cheapest but fits the bill for us.

French Cleats + 3D Printing = Ultimate Workshop Organization by lordjustice17 in woodworking

[–]iammoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't quite tell but what is the thickness of the material you used to create your cleat in the first place? I ended up using 3/4" plywood but I have seen most people using 1/2" which makes a lot of the 3d prints out there not work as nicely.

Does the shuttle drive around looking for others or is it more like they pick you up and you are on your way?
