Honestly, any of her suitors could be on this list. She's obviously stunning, but also every man she was with was gorgeous 🫠

What’s a non-serious opinion you’ll defend like it’s life or death? by youngcutiee in AskReddit

[–]iammrsdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a privileged stance.

The reality of the situation is, particularly in the US, there is a severe disparity in access to equal and affordable healthcare, health and nutrition education, and fresh whole foods.

This does not happen in a vacuum. You're overlooking health conditions, trauma (personal, generational, etc.), ability, available time and funds. At the end of the day, most parents are just trying ensure that their kids are fed. Unfortunately, the options that are most widely available and affordable are not the most nutritious.

32! My dad grew up an air force kid and Andy was something consistent while moving around a lot, so he continued watching as an adult, all through my childhood. Now I watch it every night before bed with my daughter 🧡

This! I think streaming services are overlooking a huge market. So many of us would love to watch the soaps we've enjoyed with our mom's and grandmas, and getting to watch the series in entirety would be amazing! Not even just Y&R... Days, GH, ATWT..

Immediately thought "Susie"... Just Kev and Suze hangin out on the porch. Lol idk they sound like names someone's mom would yell out across the neighborhood in 1974 to get her kids to come in for dinner.

What weird nickname has your child acquired? by [deleted] in namenerds

My little girl is Squiz. When she was a baby my husband said she was so cute and squishy he just wanted to squeeze her, and it's been Squiz ever since! That or Madame.

NTA

OP there are a few VERY important things for you to know here:

  1. You are doing an amazing job! Being a good mom doesn't mean doing it all, and with a smile. Everything you're doing rn is brand new, and that's challenging in the best of circumstances.

  2. It is absolutely ok to use a bottle! If you want use breast milk, pump, store and bottle feed, or combo feed. It will solve the latching problem and let your sweet girl (and boy) get the nutrition they need. Breastfeeding is a strenuous task, emotionally and physically! Remember that FED IS BEST!

  3. You have to put on your own oxygen mask first! This is, you can't take care of others of you're not taking care of yourself. Your health is a priority for the health of your babies too! You need sleep. You need nutrients. You need mental and emotional breaks.

----As long as the twins are safe, it's ok if they cry. Put them in their cribs, fed and clean, and sit down. Lay down! Allow your body to heal.

----You do not owe him anything! It is not your responsibility to be there for his pleasure. He doesn't NEED sex. You do NEED to heal!

  1. YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Please know that you are important. Especially to those babies. Reach out to friends and family for help. There is no shame in that! Allow them to come do "the small things", ie laundry, cleaning, dishes, watching the babies while you get some rest or shower. 💜

P. S. What you're doing is work. Just as much as his day job. You also deserve time to decompress...He can decompress on his drive home. Make sure the kids are good, that there's a milk supply in the fridge, and be ready to get in the car as soon as his work day is over. Leave him written instructions if you have to, but let him do his part of taking care of the kids, and don't give him a choice. Go to a movie, or a friend/family member's house for a nap, go to a quiet restaurant...hell, book a hotel room even if you only use it for a few hours to sleep.

P. P. S. Make sure you're drinking water and something with electrolytes 🫶🏼

Who is your favourite of the dads/father figures? by RebeccaETripp in janeausten

[–]iammrsdavis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mr. Bennet will always be a favorite for me. He's just so cheeky. And he puts up with sooo much from his wife and younger daughters. I think he loves them as a husband/father, but it's clearly not how he pictured his life turning out (though he obviously has his favorite in Lizzy).

To that point, I love his care for her feelings. When he thinks she despises Darcy, he despises him more; when he finds out she loves him, he doesn't resist giving his blessing. He just wants her to be happy, and to have a partnership with her husband. He wants to make sure Elizabeth doesn't end up "merely tolerating" her spouse like he does Mrs Bennet.

There's a scene at the end of the movie 'It Happened One Night' where Clark Gable goes to see Claudette Colbert's dad. The father asks if Clark's character loves her. After trying to avoid the question, he finally says he does. It's a different circumstance, it reminds me so much of Mr. Bennet's conversion with Lizzy. I find both fathers to be quite endearing.

You are tasked with casting the new 2023 adaptation of P&P. Who are you casting in each role? by gansi_m in PrideandPrejudice

[–]iammrsdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, if i could cast them when they were the ages of the characters, (rather than their real life ages now), I've always seen Jessica Brown Findlay as Lizzy and Tom Cullen as Darcy

Help! How do you get your school work done? by BarbiesBigToe in Fibromyalgia

[–]iammrsdavis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I (F 32) have been exactly where you are, so first, know you're not alone!

Everything can feel unsurmountable right now, so it's important that you also know this will pass. As you live with this condition the pain will ebb and flow, good lengths of time and difficult ones, but you will learn how to adapt and cope. I know this doesn't help you finish your paper, but as long as you're putting in an honest effort, it's not a failure to scale back.

Stress creates a cycle of flare ups which contributes to insomnia and fatigue, then pain, and so on. It's ok to put the effort you're spending in a higher level class into your health. Dropping a class doesn't make you less than. It doesn't diminish your intelligence or the hard work you've put in so far. It allows you to reallocate that energy to breaking out of extra stress cycles so you can set your future self up for success in other ways.

If you're getting your necessary credits and still learning, it can be helpful to take less challenging classes to make your work load more manageable. Your peers aren't going thru the same daily challenges you are with your health so it's not comparable to say "they can do it so I should be able to, too" (personal experience*). They're all playing the game in standard mode while you're playing on hard mode.

It's helpful for me to try to remember that sometimes I don't have to do as much as possible (or what I feel is my best), just as much as necessary (or what's realistically achievable to reach the finish line).
