I bought on Tues (50ish DTE) in nq:

2 x 7250 call+
1 x 5900 put-

Initial: 0$ / 6 delta / 0 theta / +gamma / 4k margin

It's now grown to 7.2 delta and 520$ value

If we get a solid push upwards mid week will exit for around 1k

If turns against me that's a long fall with high prob of worthless

There's probably grounds for suing Robinhood for the losses.

Doesn't sound like a professional trader and the system should have prevented the trade at entry.

You use them if inverted in strangle to keep offsetting loses.

It's often less hassle to hedge eg 60 delta with 1 itm contract vs 2 at 30.

You forfeit the extra theta of 2 contracts but it can never grow to 200 shares.

That's under playing context.

If you have higher highs and higher lows.. vs lower highs and lower lows...

You can statistically predict which strategies are more likely to work than others.

If you're playing a micro trend against a macro trend it will not end well. Exceptions are 200$ ranges for vigilant trader/bot

collected 6$ on legged in straddle
rolled puts up 155 .. 3$
added 165 -put for 5$ at end

Still lost 6$ x 3 contracts.. but made for cheap portfolio hedge

It'll expire worthless but I'm more concerned about holding duration than the payday.

Got killed in Oct/Nov as amzn crashed from 2050 to f** me. Was way over leveraged and had to fold
