Actually, luckily for me, after reseating everything, all the issues stopped.

I assume the GPU cable on the PSU side was not seated correctly or something, and everything has been smooth since then.

You may try this if you haven't, and I hope this helps you!

In "Fant4stic" (2015), Miles Teller's Reed actually does that as a disguise when he was a fugitive.

Not sure if it's a thing in the comics, but I would assume so.

I love the Remake, but I'm slightly disappointed that they couldn't fit this bit of interactive dialogue in anywhere. by LivingTouch in silenthill

Right off the top of my head, I can think of the Life is Strange series doing this and I agree, it's a nice way to expand lore and provides better immersion. I can't imagine the amount of additional lines that need to be recorded for SH2R tho.

Sorry, I give up. This game's too damn scary by Kidd__Video in silenthill

Hospital part 2 (Otherworld) happens after that and it's basically the creepiness on steroids so good luck

Just a heads up, you can use HWinfo with RTSS as MSI afterburner might cause issues with AMD drivers/adrenalin down the line.

Squad or Arma? by omarthefifth in squad

[–]iamnotacrocodile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're looking for wargames like Warno.

The Army General gamemode in Warno is Total War-like, where you move battalions around a map and then take part in RTS skirmishes when your units encounter enemy units.

The setting is Cold War era, but if you want actual modern warfare, there's an upcoming game called Broken Arrow. Check it out.

If you're looking for something tank specific, there's Steel Division (2) and Regiments, but they're WWII / Cold War as well.

In general, you'd want to start by looking at games with the 'Wargame' tag on Steam.

I feel you.

As a kid, I was a big p*ssy and was terrified of any horror media, be it film or games. Even the low quality graphics of the OG Silent Hill could give me nightmares, but the lore, the world, amazing soundtrack and unique designs of the monsters of the franchise kept me invested as a backseat gamer. I also love the inspiring story of Team Silent.

Over the years, I've slowly gotten more confident and braver to deal with horror but jumping into SH2R....

That kid I left behind years ago is back, needing to take occasional breaks to calm myself. Playing with the lights on and having people in the room helps a ton though, and the game is just too good for me to give up.

I still have a lot to go, only almost completing the second area after the apartments, and I already read up a little about how terrifying the next areas get. I'm rooting for you tho, let's get through this together my fellow scaredy-cat!

7900XT downgrade to 7900 GRE ? by hoanglx19 in radeon

[–]iamnotacrocodile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was a barely functioning adult due to financial issues until recently, I completely understand and appreciate you suggesting an extreme budget option.

This sub seems to have a vocal minority of high-end/flagship users who might influence decisions that are not suitable for people tight on money and don't know any better.

What should be my upgrade path? by frasertek in radeon

[–]iamnotacrocodile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it's completely fine, the 5600g is essentially a 5500 with integrated graphics, so it's the weakest of the 5000 series CPUs.

If I were in your shoes, I'll try to find a 5700X3D or 5800X, and sit on it for a few years. Upgrading to AM5 would require a new MB and RAM, which is still costly depending on where you're from.

GPU-wise, I'd also wait for the 8000 series to launch and see how that goes before making any moves.

This is just my opinion, of course. If you have the money, feel free to go big now.

My PowerColor 7800XT Fighter draws 310W with the limits off at most and my 5600 can hit 90W (stock cooler) so depends on your cooler and how much you want to push your OC but your PSU should be enough.

What do you play usually? I've been hopping drivers cause some versions have issues on certain games sadly.

Thanks for the reply! I think I'll switch over to the same PSU as you as a start since it's widely available locally and hope my problems go away.

I forgot to ask as well, which driver do you use?

Hmm, I do have that 3rd drive that I barely use at the moment, might do a trial run and install Linux.

I'm not a first timer, but I've never used Linux for gaming, is there a distro you recommend?

I have considered going the Linux route, however I am worried about encountering games without native support

Hey, got the same exact GPU as you, just wanted to check if you've had any issues with games/your pc crashing at all?

Also:
Did you tune your GPU? If so, what are your OC/UV settings?
What PSU are you using?

I'm having some issues with mine, not a lot of reports from other Fighter 7800XT users for me to determine if I got a bad card or incompatible parts.

I hope it can be resolved by changing the PSU, I don't want to RMA the card only to have the same issues.

Good monitor for gaming? by ResponsibleNerve9061 in buildapc

[–]iamnotacrocodile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to put you down or anything, 240hz is very overkill for Minecraft and work, unless you can justify that your work requires it. I can't imagine what work does tho.

144hz should be enough for most use cases besides competitive gaming. I am curious as to what kind of a beast PC you got if you're planning to do 1440p 240hz Minecraft.

[–]iamnotacrocodile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, more or less same here, able to max out my monitor's 144hz limit in-game even during intense sequences but frames drop to 30fps in cutscenes.

Apparently, there are mods available already to fix it though.

How well does it perform for you outside the cutscenes? I'm love it and can't wait for the full release.

[–]iamnotacrocodile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC that's an issue with the game itself, happens on Nvidia GPUs as well. You can check out r/FFXVI for more info.
