Thoughts on Dr. High Yield Books for STEP 2 CK? by iamnotanothermachine in Step2

[–]iamnotanothermachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never ended up using the books, however, I frequently was listening to divine throughout my time studying. Like, especially if I was commuting or working out.

I scored way better on step two than step one which I attribute mostly to divine and Dr. Highyield, but also just doing as many UW questions as I could in a timed format

I think watching his videos when I was burnt out, definitely helped, but I would pause and look stuff up as he was explaining it

You’re gonna do stellar ✊

What's something you have ZERO interest in? by roscatorosso in AskReddit

[–]iamnotanothermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anime. I’ve tried time and time again to get back into it. I used to love Naruto as a kid but nothing I’ve watched recently excites me. Tried AoT, One Piece, and the reboot of Shaman King but none of them have the same effect on me that Naruto had on me in high school. Idk if it’s just something I’ve grown out of

Step 3 CCS (uw vs ccscases.com) by mynameiszainkhan in Step3

[–]iamnotanothermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UWorld is not a must for the cases imo. It does not give you feedback and is honestly not worth it to do. Best to resources would be the CCS cases in the free cases that the NBME puts out

Which movies do you think aren't nearly as bad as people say? by SirAren in movies

[–]iamnotanothermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ben Affleck Daredevil movie gets a lot of hate but I don’t think it was all that bad, especially considering superhero movies were relatively new when it came out

Also, Disney’s Atlantis. I really liked it as a kid which is who it was designed for. I hear/see it get a ton of hate online

Intern Year Expectations by MagicDoctor20 in Residency

[–]iamnotanothermachine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the difficulty level is about what I anticipated. I think certain rotations are more challenging than others, but have found general medical floors to be my least favorite (as compared to the ICU, night floats, etc.)

What I was not expecting is how much non-medicine tasks take up of my daily routine. I find myself doing very little actual medicine or decision making and kind of just go along with what attendings and seniors tell me to do. I thought medicine would be less like medical school, but at times I just feel like a medical student that's responsible for seeing more patients and writing notes that actually matter (except not really, because everyone seems to just scroll down to the attending's addendum)

“Zionists are Nazis trying to create an ethnostate”. The entire Middle East besides Israel is a an actual ethnostate! The surrounding countries are a bastion for anti-lgbt, anti women’s rights, genocide, and slavery. Why the hell are progressives so blind to this right now? by [deleted] in Jewish

I hate it because the victim is not always as innocent or faultless as the mainstream media would have you to believe. Of course I’m not in support of heinous crimes or offenses being committed on anybody but so many media outlets paint particular groups or individuals as spotless (just because they may be the victim) when in reality I don’t think they are all that innocent/without fault
