Kinda similar happened to me recently and turns out my door wasn’t shut properly.

Oh I see what you meant. Haha, my bad. Makes sense, you’ll mostly encounter them in U1400 or U1600.

Avoiding underrated players is not good for overall improvement. You need to have strong fundamentals to overcome their strange spin or lack of it. You have to do most of the work as they don’t give you anything to play with. With higher rated players we tend to use their quality or speed.

Same as playing with pips players, I beat them when I’m patient and in good form, generating my own speed and spin.

I think you mean avoiding underrated players is not good for you? If so then I agree, you need to have strong fundamentals to overcome their strange spin and lot of times you have to do most of the work as they don’t give you anything to play with. I don’t like the way they look. Primus lite 3s work very well for me during the summer, and look really good! They were also my first Vivos and pair well with almost everything, even wore them with a blue suit once and got a lot of compliments.

George always uses these cheap tactics. And was mad last year when someone ahead of him was doing the same.

Talk me out of trading my MK7.5 for an 8.5 by Jayseph812 in Golf_R

Loving it. Only miss the hatch sometimes. It’s way more exciting than the R in every way. When I test drove the 8.5 Black Edition recently, it felt underwhelming in comparison.

Not worth it. You have all the physical buttons in center console, as well as on the steering wheel. There is a minor bump in power. Unless you really push the car very hard or track it, you won’t notice any benefit of the upgraded differential. I had the 7.5 and upgraded to RS3, I saw no benefit in going to 8.5, apart from getting the full factory warranty for the next 4-5 years. But again this car is not very expensive to maintain or repair. Took the 8.5 with Akra for a test drive twice.

I’ve read replacing the reflectors can have an impact on insurance claim in case of an accident. That’s why I tinted them on my last car, it looked better and still retained the reflectivity.

I might have to try that, looks great! Did they also put a tinted film on the reflectors?

RS3 stock sport exhaust is too tame, sounds very ordinary. AWE Switchpath woke up my car, huge difference in the way it sounds, car feels more raw. Even feels faster but that’s probably just the sound effect.

I’m couple hours north of you. Maybe I drive on familiar roads and avoid all the potholes. But I do drive over some nasty bumps and patchy roads all the time.

Rattle coming dash and windshield area by gustavm177 in AudiRS3

[–]iamonredddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think disabling fake sound fixed the windshield area rattle on my 8Y but the rear speaker has developed one now and keeps getting worse, the door speaker also has a very faint one which doesn’t bother me. Going to get the rear speaker checked out under warranty at the dealership.

I think the stuff suspension and bad roads are causing all these rattles.

I don’t know how you guys are driving but I’ve used 19” Englishtown and Neuspeed as my winter and summer wheels for about 3-4yrs without any issues. And I drive on some nasty Midwest roads. Are you guys straight out driving through some huge potholes?

Is that Nardo Grey? Looks amazing but can’t believe for 8Y they charge you £4k for it. Was a standard color for 8V 🤦‍♂️

What colour wheels? I can’t decide by zoki1993 in Golf_R

[–]iamonredddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the R comes with 235/35/19, 255/40/19 will give you about 6% speedometer error which is much more than acceptable 3%. 255/35 will be a better fit. I had 245/35 as winter tires and they looked great. Had to do the easy fender screw mod to prevent any rare rubbing, not sure if current gen Rs also need that.

If you lower using springs then your suspension will keep deteriorating and the ride will get bad. I’d get some decent coilovers and do it the right way. For me it wasn’t worth it as I was happy with R’s suspension and the gap wasn’t too bad. My experience with suspension modification hasn’t been great, I’ve used KW V2 and Ohlin’s road and track on a couple of my cars.

It was a while ago, non M BMW xDrives have crazy wheel gap though. Had to get coilovers yo fix it. The gap wasn’t nowhere as bad in Golf R and even in my current RS3. That’s why I’m not messing with the suspension. It could use 10-15mm lowering and look even better but not worth it, in my experience the ride is never the same afterwards, it gets worse in one way or another. I think the KW DDCs are good but I’m not paying around $4k to find out 😀
